Just beginning and I have questions...
Hi. I'm not great at introducing myself in new situations. I'm a new-ish quilter. I was getting lessons from my aunt while my mom was going through chemo (she's officially in remission), but my aunt passed a few years ago so I lost my teacher. I've joined local guilds and have learned lots, but I also know there is even more to learn. I've caught myself searching topics on this board several times and thought it time to join. I've been quilting on/off for about 6 years. Within the last 2 it's really become my go to hobby. I mostly piece and quilt by hand because I get frustrated with any and all sewing machines. I'll probably be a lurker for the most part until I feel like I can contribute. Thanks for this board, though, I know it'll be a great help.

Hi, Welcome to The Quilting Board.
Jinny Beyer - one of the well-knwon quilters - does a lot of hand piecing - and her quilts are spectacular. Most of us are still learning - sometimes by our mistakes - sometimes from seeing what others have done. Even experienced quilters have moments of "this is not going well" when working on projects. |
