When Things Are going Too Well....

When you're finishing a feather border for the first time and it's going really well! You're almost done. You can't believe how nice it is looking. And then you turn the quilt over and realize you've sewn 1/2 the backing around the edge into a big pleat on the back. and it's going to take about 4 hours to rip out all the stitches before you can re-do it all. Good thing I've got nowhere to go! I'm going to turn on The Great British Baking Show and start ripping.

I can only say "I'm sorry!"

Your accident with the pleat just gives you something else to do today. If you don't laugh, you'll cry.
I just spent 1 an 1/2 hrs. at the eye doctor. An emergency came in, and Knowing the doctor cares about
us, I sure didn't mind waiting. Enjoy the baking show.

Aargh! I think most of us can relate. What's worse is when I sew my clothing into my project...

I think that I'm not necessarily a better quilter than some, but that I can recover from my mistakes better than most!

And besides, time spent with the British Baking Show is never wasted, which season are you watching?

A friend of mine would say, "Well, that's enough to make a preacher cuss."
Sorry for the frustration.

ugh...at least it's not as bad as Covid! Rest when you can, Watson.

How frustrating! I think at one time or another most of us have been there.

Bummer....after quilting 50 some quilts on my Lucey....and 20-30 on my previous mid-arm....I finally oopsed ….and stitch a big pleat in the backing discovered when I just had a half of a pass left...the pleat of course was in the middle...so, not having the fortitude you have to rip out all the quilting...which I could have had to do as Lucey has a 26 inch neck....I declared this quilt...a "cabin quilt" and thus will use it there, pleat in the backing and all....the front looks good!

Did that with the last quilt I quilted, Watson!

Your feathers are looking great!
