I use Aurifil 50 wt, 2 ply, and love it. It's just kinda expensive. So whilst I was looking online for a deal, I came across Connecting Threads' thread (seems redundant)

Big difference is that it's 3 ply, but still 50 wt. Has anyone used it and liked it? Didn't like it? Can anyone compare with Aurifil? I went to tristan.bc.ca which has great deals on Aurifl but they're out of black... in every weight!

Their tread is top notch. I NEVER get broken thread while sewing. It's 50 weight and the colors are great. There's no sheen to it so looks at place on cotton. I'm now quilting with batiks and their colors do not get lost in the background. I want the hues to stand out and compliment the batiks. Can't beat the prices either.

I have used the connecting thread thread but not for quilting. I did like it and it was very nice quality. I also use Aurifil for piecing and I love it! I use King Tut thread for my quilting.

I LOVE Connecting Threads thread. I have them in most every color. You cannot beat the price, either, especially when they are having a sale.

Thank you all! I just ordered a set of 5 (5 for the price of 1.25 Aurifils! How crazy!) so I feel a lot better. That would be great if it works as well/better than Aurifil... the savings would be huge. Thank you :)

I tried this thread and liked it so I ordered the big cones of the neutral colors for piecing. The money I saved using this thread I ordered the beautiful thread stand to put my cone on!

I bought some on the recommendation of people here on the board for a rag time and was very happy with the thread. Especially happy with the price. Good quality 100% cotton thread is so expensive.

I have connecting thread products as well and have had no problems with what I have used (several spools not yet opened) I bought several spools when they had a deal on the collections

I forgot to mention in my last post that one downfall with the thread is that after you open it you have no idea what color thread it is. So I make a little label with my label maker and put it on the inside of the spool. It is tricky but so far it is working.

Love Connecting Threads thread. Like Missi, I wish I knew what color it is after it is opened. That spool is a bit small to get a label inside :-D Same with TP or paper towels, wish they would put the brand on the inside of the roll, then I would remember if it was one that I would want to purchase again, or not.
