okay there is two problems that I am having. I have to make a center block for a quilt still and there are two options that I have. one that is the same as the other blocks and one that is like a mariners compass. I am leaning towards the mariners compass one. But can't decide yet.
Now the other problem that I am having is trying to figure out how once the top is finished, how to quilt the quilt. any suggestions would be helpful. I am also very new and have only done a decorative stitch in the ditch.
the blocks in the middle are just samples I have made for another quilt the will be having these same blocks in them. making a twin bed set for my son for when he is moved to a big boys bed.

I like the second one. Sorry can't help with the quilting though, I haven't got that far yet. I haven't even stitched in the ditch yet. I'm on my 4th top.

Wow, beautiful blocks. Sorry, I am no help when it comes to deciding on a quilting design and I can't decide between your center block options, both are gorgeous.

Second one, and agree, use the extra for a pillow. I love the colors you have chosen. Beautiful. As for quilting, what about echo inside and outside the pieces?

I like both, but perhaps the mariners compass is slightly ahead, and I like your quilt inspector too.

My vote is for the Mariners Compass.

I like #2 best. My worst fear and biggest indecision comes about the quilting part - always afraid I'll ruin the top, so I'm the last person to give advice on that.
Another problem I see is how to disengage DSK (Dear Sweet Kitty) so you can sew the blocks together. Looks as if DSK is quite attached to your quilt in progress. Good luck, love the colors, and eagerly awaiting final pictures.

2nd one! and set it off somehow from the others, frame differently maybe! Just my early morning thoughts! :)

I really like the second picture. I think the center block is really highlighted and looks very nice.

Great job! It will be wonderful when you're finished :)

she already bit me when I moved her off the center of the quilt.she can be quilt stubborn. when she wants to be. laid on the quilt blocks last night for about 3 hours. basically till we went to bed and I had to move her to put everything away.
