I use Google Chrome and was having a problem with the pages redirecting to ad's and I could never get to the actual page I was wanting. I was also getting those pop up ad's. I read in Google Help to go to Extension's and hide all the extensions. Then slowly add them back one by one. I did go there stopped all my extensions and the pop ups stopped. Hope this helps.

I have a regular old PC and the pop-ups are so annoying -- and sometimes so LOUD. I wish I understood enough about the computer to understand what Gannyrosie is explaining. Thanks Gr. I'll have to ask one of the kids to try it.

I just downloaded an app for my iPad called ad block and it seems to be working on those pesky pop ups. It's free too.

It's happening on my iPhone too only way I have gotten rid of them is to use the mobile site instead of the full site.

I don't have them on my iPad. I can't tell you what my DDIL did but she set mine up so I don't get them. Maybe it was the app that Misty's mom mentioned?

They are a pain. They make the window jump all over. It does make me spend less time on the board when they get in the way. So, from that perspective it's not so bad.
I think the site admin has control as to whether these appear. I'm on other forums and they don't have the pop ups. I haven't paid attention as to what they are advertising. If its the same company then I'm thinking it's what the admin has agreed to.

I have had this happen a few times on my notebook. I found that if I opened the same page in another window, there was a different ad coming up that didn't expand up the page and I could get rid of it using the X.

our marketing and ad folks work to block pop-up ads.
they do not agree to them.
they do not encourage them.
they do not like them any more than we do.
when you see one, take a screen shot and send it by email to [email protected]
the techs need to see the ads in order to take action.
please note, also, that just because an ad shows up while you are at the QB, it does not automatically follow that the QB ad spaces are the source. most of the time they are not.
check to make sure you have good anti-virus, adware, malware, etc installed on your computer and that it is up to date.
