DH MADE ME DO IT! We spent the weekend out of town and he saw a Quilt Shop sign so on the way back he decided to stop. Honestly, I even told him that I didn't "need" a fix. But there we were, and there was all that fabric. So I bought some backing fabric for some of my donation quilts off the 50% rack and I rescued a Peanuts panel and a yard of coordinating Halloween fabric for the woman I wrote about in my last post. I also got a stencil and some variegated thread. So today I can blame the hubs. lol

my dh is no enabler! he started counting up my machines and then looking at the fabric on the couch and in the other room , and he even went so far as to count my designer handbags! he was off by several, thank goodness! he is getting downright fussy! i am having to use my smallest brother because my biggest brother needs its yearly clean-up. then he noticed a medium size brother in the quilting room, but that one ONLY does embroidery. the little brother will do both, s & e, and the biggest brother does only sewing. then he saw 2 fw's (i can't find the 3rd one , thank goodness!) he is just being patooty! and when i bought an 18" doll at joann's for 12.50 for a little girl in ok, he was upset. i made doll clothes all week-end so he will be really patooty if i ask him to mail it for me. i'm thinking of adding a fleece throw. i think he is tired of my swaps. all he remembers are the things going out to others. it's what i enjoy doing! i will be shopping my swap pretty much exclusively for a while. thank goodness, i already have the fabric and ribbons for my dgd's birthday dresses! and craftsy has free shipping on fabric....gggrrrrrrrrrr! i deleted it. (pitiful whimper)

My boyfriend doesn't count it, and he doesn't complain, but he did go in the closet for something recently and asked me "is it really full already?" talking about the two 3-drawer plastic storage cabinets that I bought. The box on top is full too. A lot of it is yard sale material and remnants or leftovers from other projects. I think it's time to start helping Nancia with her pet pads so I can use up some of the less desirable prints.

If I decide I'm ready, can I join this moratorium in July? I've finally got my stash fairly organized and I'm almost disgusted by how much fabric I didn't even remember I had. I was thinking about giving myself a reasonable quilting budget per month that would cover fabric, thread, embroidery and anything else quilting related. That way, if I want to take a class I still can but I'll have to use fabric I already have. That shouldn't be a problem though because I have way way more than I realized....

I was in my LQS yesterday to help a friend choose fabric to enlarge a quilt - guess who is doing the work? The owner came up to me excitedly to tell about the July sale. $5 clearance (some gorgeous lines in there), $6 solids (think Maywood Shadowplay), $8 all prints, $10 all batiks, 30% off notions and 20% off everything else (think Bali precuts). I told him the only way I'd buy any is if he took my stash to sell. Then he tried to get me to give up those 'old' machines' and buy a 'shiny new Janome'. That part aggravates me a little, but that's just Rick. I can see I'll need to avoid that block for the rest of the month. I do need 1/2 yard of a red print. Stay strong, Judy. Also can check the clearance for a nice border for the quilt we are making at church, but that's not for me - not my money and not going in my stash.
Nila, this isn't my thread, but IMO, you can join anytime. We need all the encouragement we can get and hopefully are able to offer some to you. Welcome.

Irishrose: Your a strong, strong woman. Concrats.
Nilla: Welcome, wish I had thought of asking to join in July. My record would be a lot better than it is now. Lets just say I had more than a couple falls from grace.

Ok, I'm in! I'm getting a few yards tomorrow for a particular project I've already planned, and I'm also going to get a few yards to pull together another project but all the other projects I've got in the works can be made with fabric I already have. So techically, I guess I'll be in starting Sunday. I have a ton of leftover batting pieces. Maybe I can finally force myself to zig zag them together and use them up too.
