Here it is the last day of July, yes, already! Must be having fun, because it just zipped by. Except for the Drive by/Fabric drop incident (where my neighbor left a couple bags of fabric on my doorstep), I did well. I've been deleting my emails about fabric sales, and mailing my JoAnn's coupons to my niece. I already know I'm going to be sorely tested in August. I'm going to the APQS Quilt show in Grand Rapids and will try and stay strong, but I'm not making any promises...
How did everyone else do?

Fell down at yet another garage sale. Drat! Okay I am not really that unhappy about acquiring fabric at a really great price. Bought a half yard of pastel batik at JoAnn's for a string quilt that I am still trying to finish. Still trailing behind the wagon.

Made it thru July without falling once- makes up for all the prior screw ups! Does this mean I can reward myself with one (?) shopping trip?

Pat: You have to think of a justification first. You "need a fix" just isn't good enough and shows an alarming lack of creativity.

Reporting back in after my foray into the lion's den (LQS sale). I picked up a yard of the red I need and 1 1/4 yards each of Moda cream and white muslin. My only splurge was a half yard of a hot pink print. That's the good news - the bad news: the sale has been extended another month so I'm not out of the woods yet.

Dustysmomma, That is precious! I've got a new grandson that doesn't have a quilt for his car seat. You've given me yet another project to think about!
I ended up getting a bit more of the fabric I wanted for binding and it's nearly finished now. It was my "pop" color. I used touches of it throughout the quilt, a small inner border (with a pieced outer border of the other fabrics, and now for the binding. It's just the right amount of color for me so I'm happy.
It's August now though, a new month with a new budget. I think I'll be able to stick with it this month since I already have projects lined up waiting to be finished and I've got what I need for them.
