2016 UFO Challenge of the Month

What weight of thread are you using? If the top thread is breaking often, then you may want to check your needle size to weight of thread and go up one more size needle. Are you using a size 14? Just trying to help.
Everyone is really doing wonderful for 2016 and Janice, you are a superb engineer, keeping us all updated so well. I have just today begun FMQ'ing (or trying) the Star quilt that I took a class on last October. I am still learning about FMQ and only have my DSM so it is going slowly, especially since it is the size of the top of a double bed. Fortunately, I am just doing a large meander so as not to distract from the layout of the quilt. I can only go so far and then the top thread breaks so it might take me a while but hope to have this done for the count this month. Love seeing everyone's finishes. All the pictures are wonderful!

Lots of activity over the last few days! More great finishes!! I had a retreat last weekend and got all of the blocks done for a quilt I started in October...and decided to make a 2nd quilt using the same pattern so have those blocks started too (7 of 24) done. I expect it will probably be at least April before I can get them all together....

Finally I get to contribute a UFO . My personal goal was to complete 6 this year and this UFO would have been in February except I wound up having to rip out a quarter of the stitching which took what seemed like forever. So glad to get this one done and even happy to see it leave the house as it's a donation quilt. The design was a D9P which I didn't like much so just kept cutting till I did! Sorry no picture as my son still needs to help me find the media software that my computer seems to have misplaced. It surely couldn't have been me that misplaced it! If we ever find it - I'll post a picture.
