Looks great Leslie! I am thinking of redoing this pattern in red, white and blue. Your purples and reds help me envision what that might look like. Thanks.

Since I made my quilt two rows narrower and one row longer, I had extra blocks to play with. After deciding not to put them on the back, I came up with a pillow sham for a standard pillow. The outer border is going to be a flange all around. As you can see I have quilted it simply in a variegated thread. When I decide what the back of the quilt will be, I'll make the back of the sham. Leslie, The red and purple look nice together-- it really makes your chain stand out well. I like your colors better than BH's. :-)

Leslie, I love how it looks like the purple surrounds and is part of the star block, rather than having the appearance of two separate blocks. It's wonderful how your star colors pop with the purple!

Great pillow sham, toverly!

I think I may get back to sewing today after several days of washing/organizing fabric.

Lovely to see the finishes coming along, it's encouraging me to keep going .

After a week or so dealing with a horrible cold, I've finally been able to get my centre together.

Having been behind on the clues when the reveal came out, I've been able to play around a bit with my chevron blocks.

I've decided to dispense with the sawtooth border, and replace with a solid green, just to save time because this is taking ages to get through, and I still need to make a whole bunch more outer border units.

SandraP, I bet your lost units will turn up the moment you've finished your replacement border lol. I owe you an email, but I'm glad you liked your surprise .

Cheers, K

Leslie, I hope you start feeling better soon. I like your color combinations.

Cute pillow sham, Toverly.

Siodach, I like how you are playing around with the chevron units. I was behind on my last clue and am now playing catch up too. I have all of the HST's and chevrons sewn together. Some of them had to be unsewn because I put the chevron on the wrong sides of the HST's. I have 2 rows of blocks done.

I had a make a bit of a restart, after my original colours were a complete disaster. I had switched up Bonnies choices, and my strings were green. Not a good fit with my purple 4-patches (that colour combo might work sometimes, but certainly not in the particular shade of green I had ended up with). So, I tossed those blocks - and my outer border blocks - into the scrap bin and replaced the strings with purple bricks. I could not face the thought of making dozens of purple string blocks after all this. So, here is what I have so far. Just waiting on a rebuild of the final outer border. I think in light/dark purple.

Siodach, you really came up with the block variations! They all look great, but I'm picking first one second row as my favorite.

kristakz, it looks like you made a great save!

I might be able to finish my second batch of quarter star units today. I have not been able to come up with a reliable system for matching that center point; it's just hit or miss (mostly miss).
