Have to tell you about my wonderful encounter today ! Went to our LQD where they were holding a class on Accuquilt. I tried to buy one of the right size strip dies but they were all sold . One was behind the counter being held for a class member. She overheard my sad story and said that that die was for her but I could buy it and she would just order one for later. Of course they gave her the 20% off and of course I thanked her profusely !!’n
After sewing strips together, is there a way to cut them into the 4-patch size?

Terry: Bonnie said she cross cuts her strips on the same right size die. It may have been in her Hint paragraph. I forgot I could do this so I took 2 layers and laid them parallel to the solid line that goes across the die blades. Then you can use a smaller mat that covers just that area and run it through. You can do several rows if you want but I would think only 2 thicknesses. Bonnie matches up her strips, right sides facing, according to how she wants her pairs. After they are cut, she can take the matched pairs straight to the machine to sew. Hope this helps.
Sweet lady to give up her die.

Rats. I thought you were going to do Judit Hajdu's Autumn Sampler. I've almost got it done, but certainly not the mystery clue 1.
Yes, I think you can cross cut and it might be better than my hack job with a rotary cutter. Maybe I'll try it once with the suggesting of the smaller matt.

I'm still not sure about colors, but I wanted to use red no matter what so can work on this clue.
First I want to finish up my Christmas presents top - cut out 400 squares and started sewing them up to make 4 patches for the border. Most of them I cut from the scraps and left over layer cake/charm squares from making the quilt. No strip piecing with this one though.

Many 4 patches finished. I'm making extra because I want a bigger quilt than 72" square. What machine are you all using? Last year I used my 40's White and the year before I think it was my 404. This year it is the big guns my 8900 Janome, mostly because the light is better there. If I'd thought harder I would have set up the Eversewn Sparrow 30 I bought for the 5th wheel, such a nice machine
