Default Homespun Hearth Agatha and Sherlock 2020 Superbowl Hard Rock Mystery

That's a mouthful of a name! I found it at Homespun Hearth. It's a free mystery.

Has anyone done one of these in the past? This mystery starts with 'warm up' clues this weekend with the rest happening Super Bowl Sunday. It's getting close and I'm nosey, so I'm searching for past quilts and I'm not finding anything.

I've pulled and cut my fabric so I'm doing this regardless, but was wondering if anyone else is too? Their fabric kits have sold out, so someone out there is! Show us your quilts, whether you've done a prior mystery or you're participating in the current one! I'll show my fabrics I chose later when I can grab a photo. I'm done for the day and lazy right now. :-D

I took a look and printed it out. The last thing I need to do is add a project, but I love mysteries, so I might, especially if I can shop my stash. Thanks for pointing this one out!

Thank you for adding the link! The clues after this weekend's warm up start Feb 1, Saturday and continue on Super Bowl Sunday. I was full of arthritis drugs and away from my calendar last night and wrote the wrong date!

Here's what I'm working with. It will be scrappy and it's all from stash/scraps. I'm just after the fun of a mystery and another top for longarm practice.

I use to do a lot of mystery quilts but am not up to a new one right now. I have blocks on the middle of my studio floor right now as a quilt comes along. I have no space to start another one but this does sound like a lot of fun. Keep us posted as the quilt comes along please.

I'll be working this Saturday and may or may not be working again on the 1st and/or 2nd as well! I'll definitely save the clues as they are released, but it will probably be a while before I get much done. I just like to have something to look forward to during the winter months.

I wish you lived near me and could help me go through my stash and find fabrics for this. Your choices are really neat.

Thank you, that is so nice of you! I'd offer advice if I thought I could! I honestly have no idea how this is going to shake out in a mystery quilt, my choices might be all wrong once I start sewing it up! I'm trying really hard this year to try new things that I haven't done before. These one day mysteries are one thing I hadn't tried before, so here I am. I've also never done mysteries where the colors are only suggested as, "dark, medium, light, favorite print" type directions, so I'm trying that out too. I've only done Bonnie Hunter mysteries where the actual colors are recommended, like use all shades of green, light aqua, sunset pink/oranges, etc. I feel kind of out on a limb with these colors, but I'm going to see what happens!

I know I've had it in my mind to use more pinks and reds this year. I just don't normally reach for them, so my pink and red drawer is getting out of control. I'm also trying to sew up stuff I already have without buying new stuff if I can avoid it. I don't remember if there were pictures of the now sold out kits. I do look at those if I can find them. I'm following a couple quilt alongs by Pat Sloan and I know I used her bundle pictures as a guide to pick from my own stash. I don't remember if that's what I did here, or if I just decided to throw together what I could come up with.

If I wind up with a butt ugly quilt I'll still use it. I sleep in a dark room with my eyes closed, it won't bother me a bit!
