She's such a darling piggy. I don't blame her for not wanting to face the sun. It was a pretty hot sunny day here today also. But, now, the rain is here. Glorious rain! I know you need rain bad. Might help with all the fires.

Thank you. Yes, I decided to forego the fencing. I've been wanting to try this method of quilt as you go. So, this is as good a time as any.

This is a very cute starting block!
I love farm animal quilts, and took part in the farm block swap, receiving so many great blocks. I'll probably follow along with this and make some to add and/or make more than one quilt.

Everything went well with the house supports. A construction engineer told us how to support the house with each support able to hold over 7,000 lbs. We have half the house done with a dozen supports and the other half to go. It's a great peace of mind getting it done! I'm very blessed that my DH is such a handyman. Saves us many labor bills.

Okay, I'm naming my piggie "Sunburn" because she's more red than pink! Doing a project like this really makes one aware of the colors we gravitate toward, doesn't it? For instance, I did not have one piece of neutral fabric to use for the sky part, so I used a solid blue. I have every crazy bright color in the rainbow though!! Oh well, my quilt will be eye-searing when finished for sure LOL.
I have plenty of rick-rack because I'm also a garment sewer. Couldn't decide what shade of pink to use for her tail, so I wove two colors together and gave her a funky tail. I love it!
I'm really enjoying looking at everyone's piggies!!

DonnaC, you "sunburn" piggy is so cute. But, I think I would rename her Scarlet. All those lovely reds. And, your sun fabric is fun!! Your right about our stash reflecting our preferences. Cute tail by the way. That was very clever braiding the tail.

I just wanted to thank the op for starting this thread. The completed pigs are adorable! I downloaded the adorable piggy and plan to make it just as soon as I have a chance. I am currently trying to get a small hand quilting project done for the local Horticultual Show’s quilt exhibit. I am new here and am hoping the fact that I posted on this thread will make it easy to follow!
