These are great! I've got mine up on the design wall.
I think I will do a thin border of the blue and a wide border of the pattern and mitre the corners if I have enough fabric.
I was also really surprised at how it came out, which is good because that was the point, right?

I have some contrast and clarity issues because of my busy fabric, but all in all I've enjoyed this immensely. Such an interesting reveal! I have the rows sewn and have to stop here and bag the pieces because I need to get back to the Bonnie Hunter mystery. This current clue is persnickety and I want to be done with it by Friday. (I wonder if the reveal will be Friday?) Watson, thanks so much for starting this thread!

Joe’sMom, I think it looks great. Your fabric choices definitely draw my eye to the pattern.
Watson, I love the pop of the contrast of yellow to blue.
Seeing the reveal, I may have chosen different fabric. I think mine will have too much brown to show pattern, but I’ll keep plugging away. I got a late start and I’m a slow sewer. Just finished HST. Also, my HST came out exactly 3.5 without room for error or trimming. I usually make HST a little bigger to allow trim.
I’ll share photo when I finish quilt. Hopefully tomorrow.

Wow - great work, everyone. I have all the sub-units sewn and pressed. I'll put the inner part of the top together tomorrow and post a pic. Then on to Frolic to try to get this step done before Friday. I'm working on three mysteries -- more than I've ever done before.

Well Kiddies, wish I would have checked in here. I miss the chat room we used to have with Patchwork Planet... heck I miss everything about that site. Anyway,,, here's our top... we did the twin, love how subtle it came out.

Well, got to get some other stuff done and get ready for work tomorrow. I am still working on the step 3 blocks. Yes the first ones. I don't have all my HSTs finished so have to make some of those every now and again. It will be something to work on this weekend. I hope my fabric shows the great pattern shown in the reveal.
You that have it that far it is very nice. Good job getting so much finished today.

So many great color combinations from the photos posted ...Joe’s mom I do like how your fabrics played together and the pop of red... Great job Watson and Wendy.
After posting my photo yesterday afternoon I decided I had enough fabric so I’ve cut more squares and HST pieces to add another row for width and length to my lap size. I will make another 11 squares to make it a bit larger then add the two borders. I will gift it to my DGS for his 3rd birthday in May. What a fun quilt along and great pattern.
