Thanks! I'm fairly confident the batiks will work out ok. I like the pink and orange set too but this may or may not be the right pattern for what I have on hand. If I like the pattern enough I could see buying some yellows or oranges to replace the pinks. I still want the fun of the mystery though, so batiks it is for now!

I love your first combo with the navy leaf print! I can't wait to see how everyone's quilts turn out!

I really could use your ladies help with this Mystery Mayhem fabrics. These are the ones I chosen. Please could you help me decide which one. I only have enough of each blue to make the lap size quilt. I don't want to go shopping for more fabric.

Krisb...I made this post so that we could keep this in the Challenge area and all keep up with each other.

grma33....I'm not sure when part 2 is coming out...One of the posters said they were going to have another clue before New Years' Day but it says on the site, "YOU MAY GO ON TO PART 2 upon arrival at the One-Day Online Mystery Quilt event at" (their site) so I'm not sure exactly what's happening with that.

On New Years Day the clues come out once per hour starting around 10 am, I think.

Queenbarbiej...I like #3, myself.

Queenbarbie,

I like both your "B's". I lean towards the pink/salmon one as the greens and blues are all from the same side of the colour wheel. But that is a personal preference thing.

Check out Karen Brown of Just Get it Done Quilts' Colour Theory videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxxKfjfNtq4

I like the C and D in the bottom photo, there is more contrast between them. Have you tried to take a black and white photo of them to double check the contrast?

I have never heard of this challenge before and this sounds like fun. Do those that are participating in this challenge have to do it on New Year's Day or can they download all the clues and work on it at their own pace?
Thank you.
Happy Quilting.Hugs Katie

I've done this Challenge several times, have skipped the past couple of years, and am back this year to give it a go. I'm going to shop my stash for the fabrics.

I tell you, I was dismayed to see the 7/8" measurement stuff as I'm a Thangles type of gal, so when Part 2 came up I got happy again! I'm going to try to get those done before New Year's Day.

KatieBock242, though part of the fun is doing it on New Year's Day, wondering how it's all going to go together as you go along, you can definitely get the clues and print them out throughout the day to work on and finish on your own. But get them printed that day; the hints will be removed soon after.
