Oh, so many finishes..... Yeah!! NanaAC- love the simple but beautiful quilt. I love 9-patch blocks and usually try to show newbys that block. It really finishes off nicely.

I don't have a pix to post yet, but I FINISHED the table set of runner, four placemats and four napkins for my daughter for Christmas! Good to get it done and off my mind. Thank you, ASimpleLife for the idea to stitch on either side of the seam line instead of SITD. That new way really enhanced the graphic pattern of her modern-style set. It is such a relief to get it done!

Another UFO finished although I'm not happy with it. It is from donated fabric and my church group cut the squares. I thought I had cut the sashing across the width but I must not have done it right. The quilters will need to tie it closer than usual before it is donated. I should have stopped at baby size but I wanted to use as many of the 3 1/2 and 4 inch squares as I could. It should have one more top and bottom row but that will make it worse. Any ideas on how to take some of the 'sag' out of it? Or maybe I will need to be brave and try to sandwich and stitch in the ditch.

Teacher: I like it. I have been thinking of a quilt for my teenage grandson, would be perfect.

rteacher,along with the tying, a thicker polyester batting will help. The squares look nice and flat, it's the borders that have a little excess. Did you measure the quilt center before putting on each set of white border? Sometimes I'm a little long or short, so that's standard on whatever size quilt I make. Looks like a great donation quilt!

OK is so right. I use that measure in three different places then average the amounts and cut your sashing/border accordingly. Really works because you work the fullness into the sashing, somewhat like a cap sleeve.

I know it's extra work, but you could rip just the corners of your sashings and add a small blue cornerstone to each one. That would give the effect of a chain of the blue running off each corner.
