While I've had some hiccups along the way. I know from last year my fabric buying is considerably less. Thanks to all of you guys and feeling like I have to confess here. I am improving and stopping and thinking if I really need a fabric rather than just want it. So though I've fallen off some - it's a huge improvement from the past few years.

Congrats on changing your shopping habits... Just slowing down on buying is something to be proud of. Adjusting our brains when it comes to acquiring fabric... takes determination and time.

I'm shopping my stash first and it is still growing. Is that because I'm just getting started?

I mean there was leftover material from the top we made in the beginning machine piecing class. Then there was leftover from the backing material. Then there were the fabrics I needed for the Asian Applique. So it's like the amount I have is twice what I started with at the beginning of the month. How did that happen?

tkhooper, I bet you left the lights off in your sewing room. That is what my DH claims is the cause for stash growth. lol

I experienced something similar when I pulled out a big bin of scraps and sewed AN ENTIRE TOP from that stash bin. When I took the leftover pieces and put them back, I swear the bin was more full than before. There is magic in our craft.

I have been telling my quilting friends that I've joined a fabric moratorium group and it has saved me lots of discussion about why I'm not buying anything. froggyintexas

I can also relax a bit now that my Paper Princess duties are over for back-to-back Bridal & Baby showers (different people :D )
At least I didn't have any opportunity to shop. Here's a bit of what I made for them, which coordinated with their respective invitations and thank you cards.

Paper princess - those are wonderful! Wow! The angry lion is just wonderful. Love your color choices for him.
tkhooper- Martina's husband might be right that it multiplies in the dark - scraps in particular for me.

Oh those shoes and bags are too cute for words. You do great work, princess.

I finished the outer border on a round robin. Tried Libby Lehman's way of doing reverse applique and it is fun.

Now it's time to finish the four blue Dresden Bloom blocks from the Edyta Sitar method.

Martina, I LOVE your froggy quilt!!

Now I know where your name came from. Paper Princess, your paper work is so pretty. Wonderful to look at.

Martina, what a darling quilt. Those little frogs are leaping right off the quilt! I have the Spring Bouquet quilt kit by Edyta Sitar, that I've been working on. I have appliques only ironed on the 12 quilt squares and then I just stopped. I still have to do the appliqueing of them and all of work on the boarders. I have a very expensive ufo waiting for me.
