I finished my Jan. UFO. It is a Christmas tree skirt that has never seen Christmas under the tree. Next Christmas, 2015, it will at last lay under the tree. I made it from a pattern in Quiltmaker Nov/Dec 08. I think it looks kind of strange right now, but hoping it will look great with my cottage decor house next year.

I'd like to join you guys. I'm newer to quilting - but thanks to quilt shows/classes, I had amassed four UFOs (unfinished tops) in two years. Since the expo is coming up in March, I'd like to finish some before starting more. I finished one of the four in January already - an ISpy baby quilt that I will be giving as a gift next month. Still left: a red and white rail fence Christmas quilt. I have sewn the strips and am cutting blocks now. Next is a pinwheel sampler that has all the fabric cut and the last UFO is a pattern for a class that was cancelled with most fabric cut.
Last year I finished three large (for me) couch/twin quilts - large starflower, Candy Coated coin type quilt, and a Rachel Griffith psiquilt pattern. Plus I made/finished two baby quilts. One was a double sided jellyroll race and then an ISpy baby quilt. Finally, I repaired a vintage quilt of my moms. I look forward to seeing all of your pretty finishes. |
Way to go Connie....knocked out 6 at once!
Barb.....I love your batik log cabin! Really looks sharp on the black background. Beebonnet.....your tree skirt is so cool....will look great under your tree. A tree skirt is on my project list for this year, my poor tree was bare this year because I forgot I threw my old skirt away.....shame on me! I have another top on the frame.... keep the UFO's coming, Marilyn |
Barb in LA...Love your quilt with the black in it. Beebonnet, your tree skirt is fabulous. You will have a wonderful gift under it with just this. I really like the pattern. Fiestapixy, so glad you joined us. Looking forward to seeing some of your finishes. Be sure and post pictures.

I am steadily making progress. I finished the last of the blocks yesterday. Now I just have to sew 12 blocks together and my top will be finished until I am able to find the right border and backing fabric.
I have my challenge project for 2015 cut and ready to start putting together so it moves to the top of my UFO list. I have hopes of getting it finished for the County Fair in June. |
Connie ... Great finish on the baby quilts!
Barb in LA ... love the colors against the black in the batik log cabin! Nice job! Beebonnet ... Your Christmas tree shirt looks wonderful! I just finished another table runner. Starting to work on finishing the next one! |

Betty: Two real beauties! The cross stitch on is really amazing, I imagine, very labor intensive. Congrats on the finishes.

3 table runners from my UFO pile! I used the same pattern but different fabrics and quilting. Today I took pictures on the sidewalk to get better pictures of the colors. My camera doesn't always pick up the correct colors when taking photos indoors. Have two more runners to complete (different patterns). Will work on them next month. I'm happy with my finished UFOs for this month --- 4 down & many to go!!
