One thing I have found about this thread beatys9 is that it somehow seems to motivate you to get your UFO's done. The people on this thread are encouraging and every once in a while our fearless leader challenges us to finish a UFO; though she hasn't done that in a while.
I know that with summer approaching I will slow down on my finishes as there are just too many other things going on; yard work, gardening, boating, camping, and all the other fun stuff you do in the summer. I also participate in the Row-by Row and I want to have a finish in 2016. My 2015 quilt came to a halt when my Mom passed away last August and I never got it completed by the deadline, honestly it still isn't completed. However, when June 21st arrives it is PTO for me from work for 4 days and a Row-by-Row road trip to collect my patterns and plates across MN. |

I finally got the binding sewn down and all the strings clipped off and cleaned up. Windy day and only had the awning to hang it on. wanted to get it in!! And as is my usual - I used up my extra fabrics for the back.

I finished by binding on my Farm Girl Vintage a few minutes ago. Sorry no picture but it looks very much like the quilt on the cover except, I didn't use yellow for the border. I used a BLUE floral. My daughter is claiming this quilt. I wish that I could send a picture.

Blue Bell, I'd love to see that Farm Girl Vintage!
travelinggramma, that is beautiful, front and back! |
joe'smom,
Joann's has the book at 40% off. I learned a lot while piecing these 6 inch blocks. Great instructions. Not for a beginner because of all the pieces, and SMALL pieces, in the blocks. Directions are also given for 12 inch blocks. |
As always a beautiful finish traveling gramma! I love the use of leftover fabric for the back.

What a wonderful response to your gift. Warms my heart!

AK, I hear you... :)
How about it fellow travelers??? I do think it's time to have a mini-push on finishing a UFO. What small UFO do you have lurking in a corner, under a pile of stash, hanging on your design wall, tucked in a drawer, anywhere, that you could finish up in a WEEK? Say by midnight on Friday, April 8th? Come on, I know they are out there. Heck, I've got at least two that I keep mentioning. (Do as I say, not as I do.) What say you? What can you find that needs just a little something to be finished? A placemat or runner? A wall-hanging needing a sleeve? The last 10 binding stitches on a gift from 8 years ago...something. Let's see what you can do to start April off well! You can do it...I have faith in this group! I'm just waiting to blow the whistle for you!
