I'm not off to a very good start - I still have not had a chance to even start organizing my UFO's. I'm getting close though, ready to move the dining room table out of the sewing room and back to the dining room, and then I can get more stuff moved around in the sewing room.

Fraew I love your quilt. It is bright and charming. Good Job.

Macybaby Your moving in the right direction. I just saw my cutting table for the first time this year. Soon I'll finish the stash buster for the charity group and I'll begin the community black and white UFO. I'm excited and you should be too.

I'm with you Macybaby...January is always a busy work month for me...I know that and will get into the swing when time allows....

Such a simple design in the signature quilt...but very striking...

Very pretty quilt Fraew and I also love the quilting. So what was the Siggy Swap all about?

Such lovely finishes! Thanks for sharing - you're inspiring me to finish some of mine. In fact I broke the first UFO into weekly goals to see if that helps. The dreaded sandwich is this week! But then to the fun stuff again.

I have 3 finishes to report! Had to finish up a few charity quilts so that I would have something to turn in on Saturday at our Sew and Meet. I'm down to 20 UFO's. :)

No way, JulieR! That's wonderful. Congratulations and a big Toot Toot, or Woo Woo, if you prefer. How about some pix? We'd love to see them. :)

Quick Tally...10 FINISHED UFOs through this post. TEN in less than six full days. Great start to January and to the whole year!

Congratulations to allspots, Deb watkins, AnokaQuilter, VickiM, Fraew, and Julie R!

AnokaQuilter: Your Red White Black table topper is a knock out! The quilting is fabulous !

Fraew: What a stunning quilt! Outstanding finish!

VickieM: Your batiks quilt looks so fresh on this frigid New England day. And I love the red and white runner. Have wanted to try that block. Looks great in a runner.

Well, I made it into the sewing room, found the Quilts to be finished box and now have a list of 9 so far. I know there are more in there, but I don't want to get overwhelmed this first month. Have several ...(ahem) vintage Thimbleberries tops to quilt, had too much fun piecing and not enough time spent quilting and finishing. But I love them and will get to finishing them.

For those of you who hate sandwiching, do you have a quilting buddy who could help? When I was in a small quilt group, we helped each other baste; set aside a certain day and we all brought tops to baste. It's always easier to lay things out with a buddy, rather than wrangling a big top by yourself. These days, my retired husband helps me lay out and sometimes even helps pin. Sure is good to have an extra pair of hands on deck.
