Wow! Such lovely finishes!
I have 2 finishes. I made 5 of the blocks last summer as practice pieces with my new cutting machine. I put them in a box because I couldn't decide how to put them together for a baby charity quilt. I recently pulled them out and hung them on my design wall to get inspiration on how to finish them. I started digging in my larger piece stash and found the giraffe fabric. Then added the narrow strips and called it done! I found some more jungle animal fabric and made a couple more blocks. I was thrilled to find the tan strips and outside green borders that I added to the second top. I asked a lady where I volunteer if she would machine quilt them for me and then I would bind them and donate them to a fundraiser for the organization. She said if I was going to donate them, she would do the quilting for free! Yeah! So I may or may not get these back to bind at some time, but they are out of my house and considered done! Those are cute, Connie. Love what you did with the giraffe fabric.
I also finished a UFO. It was my first bargello try and while not symmetrical I still really like it and it will go on my quilt room wall. I made the top nearly three years ago and reminded me of my sister who we had lost shortly before I started. It still reminds me of her so on the wall it will go perhaps with pictures of her surrounding it. |
Juanita bean--I really like the woven effect of your table runner great finish!
Connie-good job coming up with a way to use those practice blocks. Rob |
Juanita Bean - Beautiful runner.
Connie - That is great giraffe fabric and looks really good with your blocks. Also, that is so nice of the Log Arm person to offer to quilt them for free since they are charity quilts. Will be looking forward to seeing them quilted and bound. Elly66 - Congratulations on your bargello finish. Can you post pictures? Just a tip that I found to work really well for me when I want to post pictures. I take a picture with the phone. E-mail it to myself and when the e-mail gives me the option to resize the picture, which I do. Then I save the picture from the e-mail to my computer and then just upload directly from my computer to the quilting board. Since I have been doing this I have not had any issues uploading pictures to the board. Hope this helps someone. |
everyone has done beautiful work again! but...I just love the ants and the watermelon, so cute.
