Jaba that's a lovely quilt! Love the color choices and the borders set it off so nicely.

Interesting collection of blocks. I like-y!

Beautiful finish, jaba!

It wasn't a boom swap, some quilt-a-long I saw on the net and had this fabric that I thought I needed to use. I like the way it turned out. Not sure how the colors show on each monitor but it's a brownish "orangy" color with the green and a darker rust type color. It blends very well, nice autumn quilt I thought.

So, today's the last day of June. Does anyone have a UFO to post??? I'm working on one today so I might just make it in time. We'll see! I'm so ready to "toot, toot" some finishes...let's keep this train moving along, even if it's slow this summer!

I am still unable to do any quilting, due to back trouble, so no help from me. :(

Jaba..I like your outer border on your UFO finish....nice quilt and with flannel backing a great sofa throw at my house....
No contributions from here this month....I don't have company coming in until August...maybe I can finish something in July..... |
Jaba - very nice finish.
Wow, things have really slowed down. You can tell that summer is here. I was gone to two who weeks plus and was almost dreading getting caught up on the list. Only two pages, so wasn't have as bad as I thought it would be. Summer is for fun and it is hard to sequester myself to my sewing room when I would rather be outdoors having fun. Simmer is way too short here in MN to not enjoy it. Now Row-by-Row has begun so that will be my main focus. I visited 32 shops in Northern MN on my trip and have all my kits. Don't have any huge plans for the 4th except getting more outdoor work done around the house, and a BBQ and fireworks with good friends. I am hoping to find some sewing time in there. I would at least like to get 4 rows done. There is a lot of applique in the MN rows again this year so may take me a little longer. Seems like applique always does. |
June UFO Finish

So far so good in finishing at least one UFO a month. So for June.....
This is the one I have been talking about; the king size quilt for our bed. I wanted something simple for our bed and when I found the pattern in the April/May 2013 issue of The Quilter I knew that Rail Fence Twist was the quilt pattern for the project. I started this quilt while at a retreat in March of 2014. When I picked back up this UFO in January I only had three rows attached, there are 10 total, and enough blocks for seven rows; which meant I needed to make another 24 blocks. This is the biggest quilt I have ever made, measuring 97 x 112, and is now happily residing upon our bed. Hubby has a drone so we laid it out in the yard and he took the picture. Happy Spinning Drones...good name for your quilt AnokaQ...bet you like it on your bed....what lovely movement...this would make a great scrappy using a variety of fabrics in the 4 center rails...Hmmm....another quilt plan spinning in my brain...thanks for sharing...
