Love, love your tumbler quilt. It looks awesome in civil war fabrics. How big are the tumblers?

I washed it last night. It was so dirty, imagine that. It has only been in the process for what 20 years or so. I could not find my starch so will look for it. Still, looks lovely. I am excited to see it laying on the table. It was made for our old round table that got traded out for this table. No, I am not giving it away, it will find a place somewhere in my house. It is 50" across. |

Fraew, how did you quilt the tumbler? I love it.
@Blue Bell: the tumblers are 3" tall. |
Ready for next years UFO. Thanks Janice for doing this board for us.
Everyone has done a great job getting UFOs done . Lets see what we can do next year. Going to see if I can do 12 more for next year. |

As I mentioned earlier, I'm getting a jump start on the 2017 UFO thread while I wait for the next clue in the BH Mystery... I finished 4 large blocks to go with the single large block already completed from a shop-hop from 2007.
When I did the organizing binge several weeks ago, I came across a set of shop-hop "block kits" (with a block or two done) from two different Carolina Shop Hop years - one in 2007 and one in 2009. The 2007 I think only has 6 or 7 block kits (I didn't hit every store :( ), but the 2009 has about 10-12 - and on one of those, I was helping the store owner get ready for the 2010 shop hop, and she gave me a BUNCH of leftovers from 2009. So, the 2007 is probably only going to be a wall hanging, if I can decide how I want to set the blocks. The 2009 has quite a few done, and (is this fate?) the ones that were "gifted" to me are the same Tri-Recs blocks that we just did for the Mystery Quilt. So, the 2007 Shop Hop will probably be my first UFO finish for 2017. Since I have a customer quilt on the longarm, I know I can't finish in time before 2016 ends. I also only need 2 animal embroideries to get closer to finishing a kid's quilt, so I will probably let those be stitching out on the embroidery machine while I do the customer quilts. I have been off from work since the 23rd... and have been LOVING every minute of it!! This has given hubby and me a small taste of what it might be like when we both retire. :) I am really going to be dreading going back to work next Tuesday. But, I remind myself that there are a LOT of people who don't have a job, so I promise not to grumble too much. |
Adorable, Sheri. Toot, Toot

One more for the year!! I had made these alphabet blocks a couple of years ago. I actually made four different sets. Well this set is made from my motherInLaw's fabric. They were always intended for my sisterinlaw but I could not make myself finish them. Yesterday hubby came home and informed me we were meeting his brother and wife for dinner tonight. I thought if I make it fast and don't think to much it will be done and gifted and another little monkey off my back. (I've given way more info than you needed. LOL) Anyway, I quilted Baptist Fans on my domestic machine and actually bound it by hand! I usually machine bind.
So glad it's done! I'm very happy with how it turned out and really must give all design credit to fraew. ❤️️ |
