I've just created 2 more WIP's...thank goodness they are mini's! One is ready to quilt...the other getting pieced. Woe is me.

Well, hubby got the ductwork for my sewing room finished, and replaced the (now smaller) shelves. So, tomorrow I will start putting things back in the closet (and hope that I can find room for everything). THEN I will load the vintage Dresden Plate and try to have it as a UFO finish for February.
The commission quilt is completely finished, and I'm frogging the borders of the Lone Star, as I'm trying to get down to the setting squares... they're not as "perfectly flat" as I want them to be.

Great finish Tuckyquilter! Beautiful quilt and I love the circle quilting!!
Krista, the dragon looks amazing.
Teen, adorable! Rocky is crazy cute!

Great finishes everyone. I'm hoping to get to an UFO finishes soon. I've been working on a baby quilt for a friend and the boom blocks.

Still plugging away at three different UFO's. I did find someone that takes orphan blocks to make quilts for an abuse center so I pulled out a flimsy whose colors I did not like and another UFO that I lost interest in after I accidently trimmed one of the 20 blocks down to the wrong size! I just did not want to cut down the other 19 blocks again so its been sitting for two year. Along with a ton of sample blocks didn't like the color blocks and extras from quilts and I am packing them up to ship off to her. So at least three full UFO's will be handed off for a good cause and make room in my sewing space by getting ride of those left over block . I will consider this a small win in my fight against UFO's lol

Altairss...if it's out of the house, it's finished! WTG in recognizing what one wants to sew.

I pulled out a UFO applique project that was started a few years ago. Looking at it, I have to change up how it needs to be done because I have no placement sheet for the applique pieces. Hence why I think I put it away, 1/4" bias tape for the stems and very little experience doing that. I will muddle thru it because I love the pattern and I have four of the nine blocks done. Reminder, leave yourself instructions in a project so you know where you left off. I did finish the blocks for a current project, have the other current project ready to assemble blocks, then the other current project's blocks are nearly all assembled and ready to finish the top. Why three new projects all at once you ask? Well..... One is for a store sample I was asked to do because I bought the new line of Java Batiks and they don't have a sample with them and convinced me I needed to do this (push over aren't I) #2 is because I needed to do a test block with the pattern instructions before I cut up store fabric which was in fat quarters and the instructions say a jelly roll. Would not recommend pattern instruction with a jelly roll unless you like wasting fabric or making lots of tiny hst blocks, then the trimming, etc., no fun. #3 is because I volunteered to help with the quilt group raffle quilt. Now really, this was totally stupid of me, but I could not explain to my helpers that it is so much easier to use the accuquilt for the cutting instead of doing it by 4 7/8" squares. Less waste and time spent trimming and more accurate. Well, I cut a whole queen size quilt in an hour and 15 minutes, have the pieces sewn together and the blocks nearly done and it has been less than a week. What was I thinking? At least I like the fabric and will use it in my spare room or may give to my parents for a wedding anniversary. It is the Ribbon Star quilt pattern, not Jenny Doan, and it uses the friendship star with hst in corners. When I get done with it, will post a photo. To bad not a UFO, but so simple and goes together easily. So when I take it to group all done, they may all get on board and say lets do this.
Enough of my rant. Back to work. (Wish it was quilting)

Wow, QMomma...talk about being productive. After getting the two minis sandwiched, I pulled out a bunch of 4P that have been on my design board for quite a while. Finally have fabric picked and a quilt top designed...hopefully enough fabric to make strips and borders. With these smaller pieces the right fabric color is so critical because the blocks are so close to the setting fabrics and borders. I have 18 1.5" 4P's in a 6 x 3 on point setting with bars inbetween. It should look something like this

Altaires- way to go. And, to a really good cause. Well done!

Quiltermama - I love to applique. But, stems are my nemesis until I discovered a product called "Perfect Stems" by Karen Kay Buckley (Amazon, I think is about $8.00). No more bias tape stuff. Super easy and perfect finish. She has a you tube on it.

OKsewglad.....love the 4P design. I need to just bite the bullet and buy the EQ program. That's so cool to work on design.

i worked on SBS blocks today and finished 4 of them. Then cut out some appliqué blocks to work on for this quilt. My quilter has illness in house again so I couldn't take the 100th birthday quilt to her today. However, my patriotic panel QOV was received by recipient and he called from Pittsburgh very emotional. Which means, I got very emotional...After the messy cries, we laughed and giggled. So happy he loved it!

Congrates to Altairss for passing on 3 UFO blocks and getting them off her list. We are now up to #13 for the month. Yes we count passing on to someone else and off your UFO list.

FYI: The VQW has started, it's for 4 days this time. Yea. I will working on UFO's this weekend. Hope to see some of you all on that thread. bye.
