Motorcyclemad just sent a PM to say she finished 2 . She’ll try to post pictures later.

The total now stands at 35 and we have today and tomorrow to go! I hope to get one in myself.

We are rockin’ this UFO challenge!

Wow! Everyone is doing great. i have pulled out the dreaded pineapple blocks from last summer. i see I had the centers of 7 started, so i had to pull out the directions for the template. i got 2 more rows on, have a feeling this will be a slow process. i like to do things the chain piecing way, or some way that I am not doing one at a time. i don't know that it is any faster, but it makes for a less boring project, and feels good when several blocks are finished at once. If I can get this YFO finished in Feb, it will be a giant accomplishment for me. So that is my goal.... to finish the pineapple top in Feb.

I finished a UFO that only needed one corner of binding fixed. It languished in the closet, a small baby quilt that I intended to donate years ago. But that dern corner...!

Now our group total is at 36. I hope someone else is almost finished with another UFO on this last night of the month.

Thank you Oksewglad - most of the piecing has been hand work. I used the machine on the paper pieced blocks and attaching the border strips. I'm trying to stretch my abilities and learn new stuff.

You are welcome, if we don't challenge ourselves we stand still.

I'm trying to challenge myself with color. Yesterday at work a customer came in with an off the wall quilt that I loved. I am a traditional color palette gal...like the earth tones of KT, Kim Diehl, Jo Morton etc. This piece was Hour Glass blocks alternated with a framed 9P on pointed. The colors were so far from my safe zone and the patterns geometric mixed with florals. But I loved what she was doing. The piece that she had finished was going to be the center medallion (on point) and she was looking for a background to set in the corners. It was quite a search to find not only the right color, but the right compatible fabric design. Okay long story, but I have a piece of wild fabric about 12 x 42 that is my design inspiration for a quilt following her lead. I've been going through odds and ends of fabric to see what I come up with. Just not sure what's going to come of it, but I'm ready to give it a try! Just hope it doesn't become a UFO, but may be a long term WIP!

No way I can add to the total this month (still in the midst of Frolic Frenzy). Will have at least one next month, and am hoping for three.

Ladies, more terrific finishes. Thank you for sharing your pictures. They are very inspiring.

I have one more finish for you. And, sadly, but happily, it will be the last for a bit. I will leaving to go out of town soon to babysit my grands for about 6 weeks. Their baby sitter is going on maternity leave. So, I volunteered to fly up and babysit till after Easter. I'm hoping that I can get 3 more quilts mailed out to the wonderful person who longarms them for me. But, they are not UFO's. They are current finishes. Hopefully, I will be able to add more to your tally later in the year.

So, this last quilt is another quilt from the Scrappy Hunter Star Block exchange in November 2016. I saved all the pastel ones to go into their own quilt. (Believe it or not, I exchanged so many, that I still have enough for one more quilt. Maybe I can finish that later in the year.)

That’s really pretty, Judith. I’m sure you’ll be a big help to your daughter and make good memories with your grandchildren.

We are now at 37.

The clock is ticking down to midnight EST. Who can finish one in the next 46 minutes ??

Very pretty Judith. Have fun babysitting the grands!

thanks for keeping the tally Zozee. Looks like we really rocked January- lets keep up the momentum for Feb!

I still have half the binding to sew down to the back of a UFO that I had hoped to finish last night, but twas not to be. I’ll finish it tomorrow to add to the Feb. tally.

Rob
