Thanks you all for your compliments…while I got to enjoy the snowstorm on Saturday, I went and helped an 84 year old friend shovel out her yard and deck on Sunday so she could let her fur babies out.

WMUTeach, it sounds like you had a productive weekend too…keep up the good work and trying to prevent your WIPs from becoming UFOs.

Connie, two more pretty appliqué blocks…thank you for posting your photos.

I’ve made good progress on Ben’s quilt loaded on the Longarm- am hoping I will finish the quilting today. And, will feel like I managed a January finish even if the binding isn’t finished. I have a baby quilt top finished for the Niece who had her baby a month early plus the snuggle wrap and two cut bibs. As soon as Ben’s quilt comes off the frame the baby quilt will get loaded and done — hoping all today but I do still have tomorrow before I go back to work. It is nice to feel like I’m getting things done and I even sorted, organized, folded and put away everything I had out while working on the snuggle wrap, quilt and bibs- so I’m going in to a fresh start this morning. Of course that haunting 2005 ufo is still out- laying on top of my display cabinet. I will be working Wednesday through Sunday so next week I will be back to working on that. Glad I decided to keep my list of ufos to 6 and give myself 2 months to work on each one.

two in the mail this morning

HI all, I have a quilt of valor going in the mail this morning to Tampa to be presented shortly, that is about a year old. I knew the label would take some time, and it did, I had to order ink and figure out how to install the printer, finally I got that done & got the label on. It actually turned out really nice as I figured out how to get the servicemember's photo to print on the label. Three days ago, I addressed a 20-year-old Baltimore album that i was going to use to learn to hand quilt, that I have never started as I don't hand quilt. I took her to my LAQ. she is an artist and only takes a few clients for her business. I decided that after 20 years, it is time to bite the bullet and let her do her magic. That will probably take several weeks to get back but I'm not in any hurry. Then yesterday, I pulled out a lone star quilt to start on the appliques for the blank spots, that will be the next project to finish, it is from the 90s. I had started broderie perse roses, but my preference is more folk art, so I am pivoting, removing the one broderie perse flower that I hated, and starting from scratch. I'll post photos after I get some of them on. Its great to see all the photos, for sure.

Well, Ben’s quilt is quilted and off the frame- YEA! I’m taking a short break, eat something, take meds, go get the Mail then I think I will be ready to load the baby quilt and get it quilted.
of course LittleBit had to give it her inspection

ckcowl; beautiful. love the inspector, I think he's looking for loose threads. And the last picture is priceless; cats refuse to be moved.

I finished five of the face masks that I was commissioned to do by my oldest DD, trying to decide which UFO project to start on before I cut those aprons out

Gemm, there is a really long story of the last quilt that I shared years back on it, that would make you really happy for me. I really treasure her work. She hand embrodieried and hand quilted the first quilt that I keep.

Thank you for kind thoughts

jmoore: I’m sure your neighbor and her fur babies were delighted with your help.

Rebaquilts: Congratulations on your quilt of valor finish. It’s awesome that you were able to print the photo. Great idea to have someone quilt your Baltimore Album and make adjustments to your Lone Star quilt. We would love to see pictures.

ckcowl: You have been busy. Your quilting and Ben’s work = WOW! The baby quilt and bibs will be loved.

cherrybsixty: You have made a lot of face masks. :)Thank you.

One down and more to go. This is my January contribution to the UFO list. It was started last year, late spring perhaps? Finished it on Sunday, January 30! I know it was a sew-a-long but don't remember who with. My quilt journal from last year has disappeared. GRRR :( None the less, the quilt is in the bin for PL and their adolescent kiddos.
