This is such a pretty unit! The lavenders look beautiful with the intense warm greens.
I am glad we did not get the rest of the clues in one big lump. With the more leisurely pace, I might have a chance to keep up with my alternate colorway version of the quilt. sewbizgirl, those clue #5 purples are fantastic! JeanneS, those greens look so beautiful together, and with your lavender. I think you mentioned previously that you'd be leaving on a trip soon. How long will you be away? IrishNY, sorry about your mistake! You will probably still have time to finish the clue before next Friday. pinkflowers, what an interesting project! |
This is a good way to make QSTs -- for scrappy, just use two different greens.

One advantage of starting late is you get to do lots of cutting in one sitting, saving time overall lol. Get to it, you won't be sorry 👍🏼✂️📐 K |

http://thecraftyquilter.com/2012/02/...ngle-tutorial/ Jeanne, your quarter square triangles look great. Love your scrappy projects, pinkflowers. Waste not, want not.... :) |
So I guess this quilt is going to be made up of all 3" squares (finished)?

Beautiful Jeanne S! I also did the same method. I have company staying with me and had to move stuff from the guest room into my quilt room. Needless to say the specialty ruler is not accessible so I had to do the diagonal cuts from squares. Only 1/2 of the way there and hope to finish tomorrow (I hope I am not being to rude to company, but I can't help myself :D

Tweety, I like your layout. I'm halfway through mine. I have the twosies sewn, just need to put them together to make the finished units. I'm only doing half size, but I've made a few extra of each unit.

I am re-posting this photo to see how it looks... Earlier I posted it as an attachment, and it wasn't very big. If you are wondering, the crumb blocks on the left are 2.5", the middle blocks are 3.5", and the 25-patch blocks were made from 2" squares and measure 8". Many of my MQ purples and some neutrals are included. Also greens and yellows that I pulled but were odd-shaped, but enough to cut a 2" square. Making crumb blocks are fun. With some I used phone book paper as a foundation, others I didn't. With the 25-patch blocks, I am thinking about adding a 2" solid border with scrappy corner stones. I am just not willing to give up any bit of fabric that I don't have to! Makes me think of that old coffee commercial - "Good to the last drop". Well, my fabric is good to the last crumb!! |
I love your layout, Tweety. The Ohio star block is one of my favorite quilt designs and I would love it if Bonnie included it in En Provence. :)
I have all of my triangles cut and I've started chain piecing them. So much fun working with another color! |
