LOVING everyone's triangle units... and seeing all the different magentas and neutrals. It's so much more fun to do this together.
Cute stars, Pagzz! |

Flea markets and antique malls are where I most commonly see them. Sometimes the belts are gone, but you can buy a replacement pretty cheaply. Just make sure the machine has it's shuttle or bobbin case and some bobbins (depending on the model). Those can be harder to come by than a belt! If you turn the handwheel and everything moves smoothly, you've probably got a good one.
Givio, I found the avatar online. I don't think it's fabric... Fraew, your quilt is going to be amazing in those beautiful batiks. |
All of the blocks are amazing! Sure hope these are going to be stars.
I was wondering about the neutrals too. I'm gonna have to hunt up some more. |
Whittles still has the FQ bundles of neutrals for sale for pretty cheap...

https://www.whittlesfabrics.com/fat-...l-fat-quarters Thanks for the link. Signed up for their newsletter. Love how they have put Bonnie Hunter bundles together. I really enjoyed dreaming about their Civil war bundles. Would love to do a Bonnie Hunter mystery in the CW someday. |
NZquilter, if you can ever make it to SD - I'll send you home with a treadle - or 2 LOL!! I'm trying to get my collection to a more reasonable number (I've got over 150 sewing machines now).
I was wondering about the neutrals also - got a bit worried but then I discovered I have more yardage of four of the six neutrals I picked out. |
If you buy the neutral bundle from Whittles pay attention to how it says you won't get what's pictured. I got 2 white on white fabrics (a swiss dot, and a heart dot), one light purple print that read light purple from a distance, one dark tan with too much black print to suit me, one print with cranberry flowers that was too dark to suit me, and a novelty kid's print. 6 of the 12 I didn't want and won't use for this project.

Thank you givio for the warning. It's a reminder that I'm too OCD to let someone else pick my fabrics. My fabric store is a short walk away and the prices are very good as well. I will probable have enough neutrals but I going to pick up some more. I'd rather introduce the new ones now than wait until later.
Thank you everyone who suggested links on alternative way to make this block. I was finally able to make the right size square. |

Ready for clue #3! This is probably one of the most exciting quilt project I've done in a few years!

On your 4 patch units, Do you undo the stitching to spin the seams.
