@Iceblossom but fabric makes such good packing material for moving, lol. I have used fabric I no longer wanted as padding in package shipping.

I used up more of my Birdseye fabric and went through novelty scrap fabric and found some dog fabric to make some slobbery dog face wipes.

Here is the first of two quilts I am making for a local hospice center. The front was made of two charm packs and other pieces from my stash. I needed to shop for the back. It finished at 53 X 69. This should be just right for the top of a single bed or a good cover to rest in a reclining chair.

That's so lovely, WMUTeach. That is my favorite kind of fabric -- the rich, warm mellow tones.

My favorites too. I find it so difficult to use other color pallets soI keep coming back to this color way.. I had been keeping the charm packs for a long time just savoring the colors. It was time to clean out that drawer and put them to use, so I did. Hope it will work for the hospice center. My second quilt is also generally in this color way with a bit more orange and black tossed in. That one should be ready to post early next week. All it needs its binding hand stitched.

Time to cheer! I went to Shipshewana yesterday and did not buy a single piece of fabric. When you attend the once a month quilting group there you get a discount at Lolly's Fabrics. So... I bought thread. I will be going on a quilt retreat in a few weeks and don't want to be caught short on thread.

Busily stitching down the binding on the second hospice quilt and should have it ready to show by the end of the week. Just a few other tasks are calling me for the next few days.

I am also trying to finish up UFO's this spring which are more often than not from stash. Itching to start something new but so far holding firm while gazing at some of the fabric waiting to be used this Summer. Yes, it will be summer before I can dive into something new from stash.

I haven't posted here, didn't feel worthy as I have bought dozens of yards of fabric so far this year.

I was pulling fabric for a 2nd Optimism quilt, twin size using a particular couple of beloved hoarded FQ. I got in a 15 year old connecting threads bin, several sets of FQ. Also in the bin was a couple of picked over strip sets and 3 pkg of charms. The strips have been handled so much they were raveled. The strips and charms weren't cut very square either.

Was sick of looking and pawing past this stuff. Fri morning, I sorted the charms into matching twos. I sewed most of them into 4P. Then I took the strips & framed more of the charms. I had to trim the 4p of course. I made 25 & 26. Well, at this point I was in wee hours Sun morning. Not straight through, but like 3rd session. I meant for 48, a twin using 6x8. This morning, I got the center section done. I was going to use the remaining strips and cut 7" sections for a 6-1/2" top & bottom border. I got them cut, and the bottom border sewed this morning.

Someone linked to equilter, I'd never heard of. For this quilt, bought borders, binding, and a backing. I also bought a back for the twin Optimism. I really liked that, so also bought enough for another Queen back, unspecified. And a border for a child's twin.

@quiltmouse We all hop off the wagon from time to time. But I've realised that the longer I've been a part of this group my hops off are shorter and at the end of the year I always use more from stash than I add. With that disclaimer.... I hopped off briefly at JoAnn the other day. I went in for some yarn but also ended up buying 4 yards each of two fabrics that have eye catching designs. They will be perfect for focus fabrics for either mystery quilts or large block quilts. One was the sunflower fabric I'd seen before and passed up because there wasn't enough. Since more stock is coming in daily, they had enough this time. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! And since we all need eyecandy, here's a pic of what I purchased.

Ooooo I understand why you chose them. The second one particularly would make a great backing for a quilt. I stopped in today to pick up some fabric to finish a quilt for some one else. I did not want to run out and then a bold of white on white jumped into my arms. Yes, I use white on white often for background in blocks. I be many of us are trying to be wise but not foolish when entering JoAnns these last days.

Yesterday morning, I finished the 2nd piano key border, pressed both borders and the block section and attached them. I used 26 strips and 105 five inch charms, for 4-1/8 yds. It's a sweet, mainly pastel top. The set also included comparatively garish red and school bus yellow, which I used. In retrospect, perhaps I shouldn't have. Shrug. Tis done.
