Here may be a better picture of colors....plus, I think I have enough of the Daisy fabric in picture 2 to piece a back for it. Fingers crossed...
Teen, beautiful job. I love your choice of backing fabric also. This is such a bright happy quilt.
Teen, Your quilt is lovely. Your stash of polka dots and stripes made a spectacular quilt. Love your backing, too.
What a fun quilt, Teen! Great job :-)
Thank you, ladies!!!
Blue Bell.....your polka dots are in the border.....I needed those green dots.....phew!! Lol! |
Teen............wow. It's stunning!! All those different polka dots :)
Are you going to quilt it yourself? What's next on the list? :D |
Thanks, Anael! It will be quilting it myself so I'll getting the sandwich done today. I haven't decided which a Kingwell pattern to start next but I've a got QOV I would like to do as well as my Classic Santa. I need to make my Shoofly blocks for background and I have the fabric set aside to do that. I may whip those out today, too.
In between prepping a bedroom for painting tmo, I was able to get the GTSB backing and batting done...plus, I cut out 4 Shoofly blocks for classic Santa applique blocks. A lot done for me on a Sunday....I usually veg out after church. Lol... When I'm focused and on a deadline, I'm pretty manic...lol...
So,lots of painting during the day for me this week.....my evenings I'll try and quilt GTSB. A little each night... |
Teen, what does GTSB stand for? Your quilt top is lovely!
Green Tea & Sweet Beans ;)
Thank you, Karen.... Fun quilt to make....quite a bit of applique but plenty of piecing, too. Green Tea and Sweet Beans came from designer's memories of England, if I recall. I'm thinking of making another one in 1930's fabrics. Not right away, tho...lol..
:D Teen, I've been looking at 1930's fabrics too. I don't have a single inch of those so I would need to purchase a lot :D Not going to happen any day soon I'm afraid :(

Finished painting guest bedroom...only den & 3rd bathroom to go. I hate painting.. Anywhoo...it is way too hot to do any quilting on GTSB....so I did the first block of Classic Santa quilt. It's been a long time since I embroidered a French knot...lol...comical. My fingers were going every which way, stuck myself with a needle, then had a tangled mess...but, finally did it. His staff a little crooked but oh, well.. 12 1/2" appliqued on a Shoofly block... I'll only post this one block since this is a Kingwell thread but, since I shared doing this quilt with you, thought I'd show you one block..
Oh that's a lovely Santa!!! Since staffs are made of wood, it should be crooked. Keep posting them or use the Sylvia thread.
Love your jolly ole St. Nick. Can't wait to see more Santas.
Teen, classic Santa is wonderful. I agree, keep posting them somewhere so we can see them. I love his staff a little crooked. I'm with Anael, the staffs are made of wood. Wood is not "stick" straight. lol :D Pun intended.
Thank you, my friends! I appreciate the crooked staff analysis.....I feel better now. :D This will be another fun quilt pattern. I love the applique on a pieced block. I'm going to have to do more of that instead of just on a solid background. No trapunto on this one. I may just double the batting with a layer of wool batting. Never done that yet so checking off new techniques on this one. I'll continue to share here since you'all want to see them. Going to quilt this evening a little bit when it's no longer 107 degrees...
I posted the link in the Sylvia thread but will post it here as well. I made an album with photos from my rides. I thought that would be better than to post them all in the Sylvia thread.........

I have quilted 1/2 of quilt center on GTSB. It is indeed poofy....:D

Here's some trapunto poofiness...lol
That's a neat look Teen. It's going to be so soft and inviting.
Looks good to me! Are you hand quilting it?
No way!:p FMQ on my domestic. Not dense quilting. Mostly STID and stitching around and on appliques. I may go back once done and add some more but will see...
Oh sorry I asked :D :D :D :D Now I remember you said you don't hand quilt :)
I keep discovering more Jen Kingwell quilts........I need more lives!!! |
Sew nice, Teen!
Hey I did some "stash" sewing last week! https://www.quiltingboard.com/pictur...h-t298811.html |
Oh that's cute OK!!!!
We almost don't mail any letters anymore. I can't remember the last time I sent one.....a few years ago. It's all by computer now. |
Thanks, Anael..my sis remembers everyone's birthdays, etc.
That's a great time to receive cards and letters!! And so is Christmas :)
Thank you, gals!!
OK....that's so pretty and perfect for the drawer. Both are such clever ideas. I have a sister who remembers every special day too. I call her each month to get the low down for greeting cards. Lol... She is such an enabler. Lol.. |
Teen, Love seeing more of your blocks and quilting. Wish that I was brave enough to quilt my projects.
Thanks, Blue Bell.. Since I decided to keep this one, the perfection of the quilting wasn't important. Plus, it's good practice. I would have liked to hold this and quilt on my future LA but I dislike unfinished projects. Lol.. I'll just make another one later. It's turning out really pretty, puffy, and comfy feeling since no dense quilting. My arms are tired from wrestling it, tho...:D
So, the center of the quilt is basically quilted....just the borders remaining; however, I'm going to do a bit more detail quilting on some blocks to stabilize the batting more. I should be binding this week.....at least that is my goal.
Went to 5day retreat. One of the ladies was making a Jen Kingwell quilt. She's to the finals section. It is totally different type fabric from yours. Anyway, got to see this fabulous creation in person. Kudos to all of you making this quilt.

Petthefabric....do you recall what Kingwell pattern she was making? Kingwell has so many awesome patterns and most of us are all making different ones. Tho...I think some of us own a lot of her patterns and intend to make them all..lol... Or be like Anael and make them all at the same time...:D
Quilting done on Green Tea and Sweet Beans...here are some highlights.....so poofy and mushy and cushy....love it!! ....on to binding... |
Hahahaha Teen, I restricted myself to two Jen quilts at the same time.
I Love your GBST, it looks so comfy and soft!! The Trapunto really works! Now to show the whole quilt. What's next on your list? |
I was going to Oder the Midnight Garden book- but am really drawn to the gypsy wife one so ordered that one and the Quilt Lovely book- excited to start trying out her patterns and using up some of the crazy scraps I have. I love looking at all of your blocks.
Nice ckcowl!! The Quilt Lovely book has some lovely patterns!
I think it was Gypsy Wife
No Gypsy Wife is alike, I've seen quite a few and each one is different. I like most of them, some I don't. That's the beauty of quilting, you can do whatever you want because it's yours!
Ckcowl....GW is on my bucket list...most of Kingwell patterns are on my bucket list...lol. So glad to hear you may start yours soon. Kingwell patterns are fantastic scrap busters...
Anael...my next Kingwell may be Happy birds but I've got a couple of projects ahead of this one so we'll see. I have the fabric for it.. |
