Anael, I just love it!! Very pretty!!
Still not sewing. Have 3 grandsons coming for a sleepover. We are taking them swimming at the indoor recreation center. Lots of noise for the next 2 days.

Thank you!!

Spending time with your grands is very precious! Have fun!!

What's there not to like about your BD quilt, Anael? I love the "sherbet" color palette and your fabrics play well together. How do you finish these detailed quilts in such a short time span? Do you sleep? Anyways, thanks for sharing your eye candy with us.

Beautifully done Anael. I love the 4 corner blocks. I love the colors of the whole quilt. It's really awesome.

sewingitalltogether, have a "grand" time with the grands. There truly is nothing better. I miss mine so much. They get big so fast. I'm getting ready to send out the Easter Box to them. I just need to go see if I can find sandals for the girls.

Thanks so much Nita! I started this one a while ago, just needed to finish it. It took me a while to get used to the fact that I didn't use a consistent background fabric, I was way out of my comfort zone here :)

Thank you Judith!! I'm glad I made the corner blocks all at the same time otherwise I might have used one of the fabrics in the quilt and forget I need some for those blocks :D :D

Great job, Anael. I love these pattern but they take me way out of my comfort zone also. I'm testing out GTSB and haven't found the sweet spot yet. 30's or batiks? Neutral background or not? All the questions. Then it seems to come together only when several are sewn together. I've also finally given up calling it Green tea and Sweet beans. I'm from Mississppi, it has to be Sweet tea and green Beans.

We all need to step out of our comfort zone...great job! We know you will quilt it beautifully, too, Anael. I'm thinking the brighter pink would be a great binding on it when you're done with the quilting...

Anael 04-04-2019 09:38 AM

Thank you toverly and OK! I always wanted to visit Mississippi, which won't be happening though.
Green Tea or Sweet Tea is ok with me, I had a hard time remembering Sweet Beans and I often mixed them up :D

OK, on the Kingwell and Bakers Dozen Facebookgroup members said the dark fabric used as small border for the center blocks would be great as binding. That's a no go because I don't have enough of that fabric left. I will audition some I do have when it's time to decide. For now it will be last in line in the closet LOL!!

I thought the dark fabric would echo the border, too. But the more I thought about it I think you would see 2 dark frames and nothing in between...using a dominant color from the blocks would compliment rather than out shine the quilt...IMHO

What do the rest of you think?

Anael, Your quilt is awesome, spectacular and well done. Love it.
