This makes obvious sense but part of the mystery to not give all the cutting instructions at once I guess. This is my first mystery quilt so I'm learning.

If it makes you feel better, last year she released all the cutting instructions in the Part 1 (then again, there was no Part 2 prior to New Year's Day last year) If there is more cutting to be done, I hope Fabric A is the only one we cut anything additional from because some of my fabrics didn't meet her required size (I went with them anyway because there was enough to cover the cutting instructions at the time... uh oh...) Then again, I did see someone ask her on FB if a fabric that was slightly less than was called for would be okay and she said "yes" so long as the person cut carefully, so who knows.

vadalia, I made last years quilt and I had what she called for in measurements and I had some fabric left over.

Watson- Yes, I definitely will be cutting at least 3" instead of 2 7/8". I need the extra on HSTs. I've never made HSTs by cutting the square before sewing. I use 2 squares, draw a line and sew on either side, then cut. I understand why that won't work, but it will be a new experience for me.

I'm with givio, I like to cut for the correct size. The last thing I need is more bending over the table to trim units. I will sometimes make oversized units, as with Deb Tucker's wing clipper, but I really prefer to aim for correct size and avoid trimming.

I am hoping this works. I haven't been able to figure out how to post pictures yet so here goes...... I have never heard of this sew along until I joined here and looking forward to it! I'm going to try using my stash and since I make mainly scrappy quilts I don't usually have more than 1 yard of fabric. It was a bit of a challenge but I found this fun fabric.

Leah....those are adorable fabrics! Will be so cute... so happy you are joining us. This is my first MM Mystery, too.

OK, I am committed. All cut (except for A). Fabric C is in the center and I’m using 2 fabrics one light and one dark. Dark cut for the large squares and balance of cuts are in the light. I swapped out the yellow/gold (fabric D) for a rose color. Will see what happens....... it could be quite the mess..

Thank you so much!! Teen, your quilt is going to be gorgeous! LOVE your fabric!

Leahquilts, what a fun quilt you will have!

Teen, it's hard to imagine anything you made could be a mess. I'd bet on it being beautiful.

All this talk is building my anticipation. It will be so much fun to see people's quilts take shape!

Are we supposed to just keep checking back at the original link to see when the next clue arrives?

Thanks Joe's mom! I think it will be fun and will probably donate it to the Sheriff's Office when done. Our guild makes quilts for the kids that have to be separated from their parents.

Thank you all!

That’s what I am doing...however, I think you can sign up for email notifications. I’m not doing that...I get too many daily emails already and unsubscribing is a hit and miss for me....so, this week, I’m just checking daily. When Part 2 pops up, I will or someone else will post here..
