Hello everyone,
Iam new to the quilting world. A friend convinced me to start a mystery quilt and I am hooked. I am ready to put the backing on and have no idea on how to do the stitching. I understand that there are many ideas and stitching patterns. But I have no idea of what to do - figured for my 1st I would just follow the squares. But I am also working on a tablerunner for Thanksgiving.
Can someone help me to figure out what to do.

I would love to adopt someone. I have been quilting for about 30 years, love to hand quilt. Art quilts I feel are
out of my league, but I have a friend that does them and
I know I could get her advise too. I started a quilt club
where I work, and the passion has been catching. If you need to be adopted...anyone, would love to help.

I also a Pa girl would love to help. Quilting is one of my passions, I
love to get the quilt to that point. For a first quilt, I would recommend quilting in the ditch until you perfect your stitches.
The Table Runner you could just put a backing on and turn inside
out, you don't have to actually quilt it. But again I would just
follow the seams until you are comfortable. What kind of frame
are you using. I do love the PVC ones, because you can turn
them and make them taunt or loose as you like. Get yourself
a size 9 quilting needle to start, you can get smaller ones as
you grow. I would use a backing that is not plain that way you
won't be disappointed in your first stitches.

didn't get there this year, but was wonderful last year.

What material was in your mystery quilt, have never done one.
What is the idea about it?

I too would like to do art quilting but at the moment I'm committed to getting one quilt done that became a diseaster when my FM machine quit working and I started to take the quilt off the rollers with only inches that needed to be quilted.
Well then I demanded and got a replacement till mine is repaired and now I can't get the quilt back on so I'm FM on my piecing machine and it is queen size quilt and heavy and I finally hooped it in large embroidery hoop to hang on to it but it is the biggest work out ever. I can't quilt too long it is exhausting. Then I have 4 more in line 2 ready for FM and one almost done to be FM and one just a gleam in my eye a very special quilt for my daughter who likes KoKoPelli and I found a pattern for him. But I'd be willing to give you my e-mail privately if you want help. Illsa

Would love to help with your mystery quilt. Is your backing plan
or has some print to it? Hand quilting is great release of stress for me. But if you want to hand quilt, you may be more pleased if you
do it in the ditch for the first time quilter, and floral back so you can't see the the detail of your stitches from the back. It does
take practice, and the table runner would be a good start too!
I haven't machine quilted as yet. I do want to be It just makes
me nervous scribbling all over my quilt after painfully matching
all those seems...?????

Am newbie and need my mommy! Can'see her anywhere. I know sew little you will end up lookig like a pro when you pass all your knowledge over to me.
