I've got fabrics selected and cut out for the June block. I'm not sure how soon I will be able to stitch it up though. Our summer schedule is filling up!
I need to get going. I'm so far behind. At least I've printed the patterns though.
I'm behind, too, SusieQOH. I want to catch up with the Harriet's Journey group before I get back to this and the Old School BOM. Fortunately, the patterns will keep!
I got June's block finished today. Maybe it's the heat, but I sure did need to keep "Jack" handy! He got quite a workout. I'll post a picture as soon as I get a chance, but it may not be too soon.

My June block ...
Ooh, very pretty, DJ!
Thanks for the link, Joe's mom- I couldn't find it.
Joe’s mom...
As I saw your block with the “cluttered background” I thought oooh I love that! I’ve gotta remember to use different background fabrics like you did. I just kept studying that beautiful block. I don’t think I would have thought to do that and I really love the different backgrounds... it’s scrappy!!! I bet once you “clutter” other blocks background you’ll begin to really enjoy the beauty. I know I sure do think it’s beautiful. It’s more eclectic and feminine to me:) |
Thank you for those encouraging comments, alaskasunshine! In retrospect, I think it was the low contrast in some of those fabric pairings that bothered me, more than the busy look of the blocks.
Greetings!
This month is flying by. I do have the fabrics for the July block picked out. I'm not sure when I will hae a chance to do it, as this month is busy with travel with only a few days home at a stretch. |
DJ, I finally got caught up. I did several blocks in one day. It's a really nice quiltalong!

Great SusieQOH!
I finally finished my block today. I'll post a picture as soon as I can. I need to go through some antics to get it from my phone to my computer! Okay...here it is ... |

August block completed ... I didn't want the block to be directional, so I placed the houses "around the block" ...
Oh my gosh, never even checked the August block! I really do hope to catch up on this at some point. Your blocks are looking great, DJ.
DJ- I LOVE that!!! I like that one a lot better to be honest!
I was all excited for August 1 to get the newest block and then realized it came out on Thursday! lol |
Great block DJ…wonderful colors. I am heading to the printer for the pattern.
Thank you all! I'm anxioux to see others.

Finally got my April blocks done (third is the 6").
They look great, Lisa!!
Very nice, joe'smom. Keep 'em coming!
When I do this month's I'll be caught up.
I've been working on a pattern that is giving me fits. Finished the top yesterday. Yay! DJ- if you don't mind I'd like to do my houses like yours. They are way nicer!! |

I've printed out the September block and brainstormed the fabrics I want to use. I'll be doing it a bit differently, of course. LOL I won't be able to do any cutting and sewing till next week at the soonest. |

These are my May blocks. I had zero enthusiasm for the idea of making three versions of the '4 little baskets' block, so I just made each one a single large basket. Third one is the 6" block -- I have miniscule seam allowances on top, but I'll worry about that later.
I can't find the November block on Sherri's site. Anyone know?
Edit- just found it. She's posting it on the 11th. |
Sherri actually posted the November block on the 10th.
Hey everyone,
It took me forever to find the finishing instructions but here they are: https://www.aquiltinglife.com/2021/1...ber-2021.html/ |
Thank-you susieOOH for the finishing directions. I was looking for them as well.
joe’smom, your blocks are pretty. |

Playing catch up from summer…I just finished these this week and still have Oct Nov and December to construct but determined to get them done so I can move onto a new project. Looking forward to seeing some of your tops.
Such pretty blocks, jmoore! It will take me some time to get back to these, but I am also determined to finish this quilt (but why, oh why, did I decide to do 3 versions?!)
Have you chosen your new project? |

Have you chosen your new project? I have a few goals for 2022. I need to make my 2 yr old grandson a quilt and finish the other half of my king size top. |
jmoore- your blocks are so pretty! I found my instructions yesterday for December and the finish. I hope to work on them today.
Sorry I have no suggestions for you, jmoore. My goal is to not start any new projects this year. I should be ok unless someone starts another tempting sew-along on the QB.

Finally finished my Quilting Life BOM …I did not arrange them in month order and I didn’t care for the May block so I used one of my Old School House BOMs to complete this project. I have pulled a grey backing from my stash and hope to get it quilted in the coming week. Thank you for looking.
Ohhhh I love it!!!! Just beautiful! Mine isn't finished yet but now I want to!!! :)
Wow, jmoore! You must be pleased as punch with that, it looks fabulous. What a great job you did distributing the colors! Setting and borders are superb, also. Congratulations! This will also be an inspiration to me, to finish mine.
SusieQOH and joe’smom, there is a sense of gratification to get it finished. The 9 patch corners and sashing go rather quickly…I’m glad I used the gray as a neutral it gives the eyes a place to rest from block to block. I think Sherri’s finished instructions were well written. Good luck.
