Love today's block! Wish had time to make one before I leave for treatment this morning. Maybe I'll just go fondle the fabrics and decide which ones to use! Janet

I changed the blue to green.....I was getting tired of the blue, and I wanted a little more variety. How do you like it?

sewbizgirl 07-17-2017 01:57 PM

Fast, Jane! Beautiful block... love that center. Can't wait to get to mine.

Just Jan 07-17-2017 02:29 PM

Jane Quilter, Love, love, love your block! I have chosen green for my block, too. Hoping to get it done tomorrow. Janet

lawsonmugs 07-18-2017 06:24 AM

It's really pretty. Looks like browns on my computer

Jane Quilter 07-18-2017 12:57 PM

Just Jan, your block is lovely. I like how you used the same green for both block and stars. Nice.

sewbizgirl 07-18-2017 01:23 PM

It's beautiful, Just Jan... I really love the block and it looks so good in your colors.

Just Jan 07-19-2017 05:57 AM

Thanks everybody. Mary, its dark green and I guess the little rust pieces may be making it show as brown, but there is no brown in it. What I called rust is actually a sort of rosey/rust color. The background shows up as gray on my computer but its also celery green on off white. Sure love playing with these greens! :D

lawsonmugs 07-19-2017 08:05 AM

Jan it looks really good. My computer is just showing it off color. I'm gonna try to start mine today.

My badly needed, new neutrals just arrived, along with one other green that I just could not resist! The last neutral has a tiny bit of green and red in the print.Thought you might enjoy seeing them.

sewbizgirl 07-19-2017 03:13 PM

I went to the quilt shop today, to drop off quilts for a show next month. I got to shop for more browns! Picked out two pretty FQs.

Sooo pretty, Mary. Your points look great to me! These blocks are making us better piecers, don't you think? Lots of practice.

Here are the two new 'browns'...

HEY! Didn't see my mistake(s) until I posted a photo! :D That's what photos are good for. Will fix those boo boos with the neutrals. I already have one 'humility block' so will fix these! :D :D :D

Jane Quilter 07-20-2017 10:13 AM

Thats the same mistake I made, Sewbizgirl. If you look close you can see a not so straight seam where I ripped it out, turned it around and re sewed it closed. Looks Like I'm in good company here...:)

Me too! Luckily I caught my mistake as I was sewing it together!

lawsonmugs 07-20-2017 11:16 AM

I did the same and I think I will leave it. I'm just tired of fussing with it. I bet there are a lot of us. lol.

Such a pretty block and love your new FQs. I'm making other CW blocks as I await the next block pattern. I've started a quilt for my friend's birthday the end of September. I'm going to make extra blocks from some of the patterns from this BOW, and I've just been playing around with some other blocks I like, as I see them online or in BlockBase. Here are three blocks for in "Gloria's Birthday Quilt." They are Farmers Daughter, Chinese Coin/AK Homestead, and Goshen Star. Mind if I copy your Double Star block? I'm sure I have fabrics that are pretty close to what you chose. Your block just seems to shout "Include Me, too!":D Janet

Am I missing something? I have had no notices from this BOW since I last posted on 7/22. I expected to see some new #14 Wild Geese blocks by now. Here is my block. I am also posting a block I designed (PaintMeJudy helped as I kept sending her arrangements and she helped me choose the final layout.) I am making two of each of these blocks, one for my BOW and one like it for Gloria's quilt. My #14 is not perfect, some cut off points, but it will quilt out! LOL Reminds me of the old song, "Close Enough to Perfect," by Alabama. My blocks are not perfect but its close enough for me!:p Hope you all like my new block, too. I named it Halo.

Gorgeous blocks, Jan! Yes, it's been a little quiet in this thread. But we got an easy block this week so I think we'll see some soon. I've been consumed with working on my Boom blocks, as the new Boom swap has just begun. I'm also still making pony quilt blocks. I'll get to my R & R block 14 soon.

Thanks for both the compliments and a fast response! I had my computer worked on and I was afraid something got screwed up. I then went to the section here for tech support and it told me to resign up for the news letter. When I tried it kept sending an error message. I just gave up and then your notification came in, so I guess my computer is OK now! Can't believe I was the first to post my block this week.
I do hope others are making blocks. (No slackers allowed! :D) I love seeing what they look like in all the different fabrics.

Annaquilts 07-24-2017 11:06 PM

I am pretty sure I have them done but can not find where I put the pictures in my computer. In the meantime I had friends stay over for a week and not much quilting happened.

I'm talking about the block that came yesterday morning. If you had company you probably have not had time to make it yet.

Jan I love your blocks the one looks like it has shadows of color. Very pretty and interesting looking. Here is my block I just finished it. Had to run to town yesterday and do errands, No sewing done after. The nearest town is 15 miles away. I'm way out in the country on a farm. At my age I get so tired by the time I get back. I wanted to get this done before the new Summer Picnic block is emailed tomorrow. Thanks everyone for taking the time to post pictures and comment. :D:sew:

I made some ahead of time anticipating summer being busy. I normally do not use the pattern.

Annaquilts 07-25-2017 11:17 AM

lawsonmugs those colors are stunning. Red, white, blue and brown have really grown on me over the last couple of years. My friends have to laugh because I used to dislike brown but now I am always on the lookout to buy some especially Civil War browns.

sewbizgirl 07-25-2017 11:39 AM

Love your block, Mary... pretty points!

lawsonmugs 07-25-2017 11:54 AM

Thank You Ladies. This one was easier than last weeks. ( It was a tuffy for me) Hope to see more blocks soon.
