Scuba, I gave myself permission last fall to 'get over it'
When same fabric ends up by same fabric, even two or three times to not futz about it.
My first time just 'letting it go' was with a 2" finished tumbler quilt from fabrics Rob brought me from Australia and New Zealand.

I love it. I think in one place there are 4 sames touching. It seems to just blend together like good friends. :) This is a pet runner for the bed.

Anyway, your quilt is wonderful, and what is the point of scrappy if you have to think about it?

That's a great outlook! I'm going to have to remember that. I fussed over mine, and I still have areas where the same fabric is, if not touching, at least in close proximity. I'm not going to worry about it.

ScubaK- I like the secondary patterns that are showing up on your ORL-- very nice use of color! And I'm with you on just wanting to be done... Mine's on hold for a little while, until I can get caught up on some other stuff, maybe when I get back to it it won't seem so tedious assembling the remaining 10 blocks LOL.

Rob

Rob,
I don't have the sashings and corner stones in yet so not sure how it is going to look. I just wanted something to look at when I pieced it because it has taken me forever...
Thank you.
I have 10 more blocks to complete then the parallelogram things to put together....Whew! This one is a doozy!

I forgot to put up my progress on my barn quilt too!
A few months ago I put a note on the local quilters FB group asking if anyone else wanted to make a barn quilt or porch patch, that I have a big clean garage and we could set up machines and sew while the layers dry.

I had 32 people respond, 'bout scared me to death :) So I shared that a local quilt shop will be having classes this summer.
I'm glad I didn't just jump in feet first, I can't believe how many hours I have into this project.
I'm loving it!

I think I might try something like this on my porch this summer!

Kirsten: Your top is coming along nicely.

KalamaQuilts: Pretty bed runner! I usually have your way of thinking: just let go of colors close in proximity unless it is a baby quilt for a local charity or a special gift for a family member.

2 more columns to go one front and one back and Ringo's Sister will be completely assembled and quilted (the center) then I will work on borders.

Well Ringo's Sister is assembled except for the borders. I thought it was completely quilted too, but may go back and add straight quilting lines across too. It is quilted in straight vertical lines every 3 - 4 inches now. That would be enough for the batting, but I am concerned about some of those thick intersections both front and back that have no quilting line close by.

The only pieces I had left were the light / dark geese, so this is kinda what I'm thinking about for a simple border.

And here is the back
