Congratulations of getting your "stuff" into order and ready for your next step of sorting. I did that deep and honest sorting of my fabric a couple of years ago and it was so freeing. I do not miss any of the pieces that I left with Goodwill. Sort on and enjoy!

I actually buy scraps, yes I know something if rather wrong with me. I use them in dog quilts that I donate. Lately I have discovered crumb quilting, what a fun and easy way to use up scraps. Anyone else out there crumb?

I like to crumb...but have soo many started. I'm going through light scraps to make a basket quilt right now.

One thing I've been doing is sewing 1 1/2" strips together like the jelly roll race quilts...that helps empty my 1 1/2" string bin. This 50 x 60 quilt is backed with a soft fleece and lightweight batting. My grands love it for TV watching. It makes a good car quilt...yes even in summer as MrOK likes it cold so to keep from freezing I need a quilt!

Hey while you are digging in your scraps could you look for a green version of this Debbie Mumm Jolly Christmas piece. I need a 2 1/2 x 18 inch piece to finish a table runner binding. I thought I had enough...quess not!

Yes! I always have some crumbs that I’m working with. My go to when I want to sew but am not feeling energetic enough to tackle one of my big projects.

That's a nice quilt. I've really become a fan of the scrappy look. It harkens back to my childhood.

I had 4 large totes, a medium size box and a full Walmart bag full of scraps two days ago. Now I have 1 full tote for cutting into squares, rectangles, strips etc with my GO. I found larger pieces of fabric that I sorted into colors and put into my bins. I also found about 1/2 of a tote that was all my strips I cut 3 years ago! I sorted all my calicos for a quilt I plan to make soon. I’m going to sort all my strips by color in a few days. I have 4 very large bags I’m dropping off at a thrift store. I ended up with a tote filled with small pieces and very thin fabric that will be used for dog beds. I’m not near done cleaning out but I’ve made a huge start, DH is amazed but said he knew I’d do it. I want my fabric neat and orderly and easy to use. I still have a huge amount of fabric but I’m determined to go through every piece and decide if it stays or goes. It feels great!

Whoa Nellie! You're really on it! If there were a prize to be given, at this point I'd have to say you're a winner.

So, I've been quiet for a while, but not because I haven't been busy. Made two Queen/King sized scrap quilts, and two lap quilts. Will post pictures as soon as I can get someone to hold them up! Right now I'm working on a paper piecing scrap project, well, actually two of them. My sister brought back a stack of MSQC paper piecing triangles from a trip she made. She said she had no idea what it was, but it was obviously something for quilting!! That one I'm just doing strips on. The other paper piecing project is a little more complicated. BUT, for some reason the scrap pile doesn't seem to get any smaller! How can that be?????????

Okeydokey....here are some of my scrap projects from this year....
The Hexagons and the starburst blocks are not completed yet....works in progress, and the only ones quilted so far are the log cabin and the quickie little childs quilt. The hexies are meant to be English paper pieced, a method I don't have the patience for! But I figured out a way to do it on the machine. The patterns I got from a hexie calendar....one pattern per day....lasted about a month for me! But, so far I'm about half done.

well done Lydia! I love the idea of only 4 points meeting in the center of the top block instead of 16!
Does the block have a name?
Great output, wonderful results than you for sharing
