I am up for the challenge too! I have been gathering mens shirts from garage sales and plan to make as many quilts as possible from them. I have perviously made 10 string quilts for my scraps. Love making quilts scrappy. Cindy

Last month, I bought the Quilter's World August number with the delight in red delicious quilt as the star quilt. After reading your invitation to try to make something nice with what we have already at hand, I decided to try this one, the Red Delicious quilt. Already, all my pieces are cut out of left over fabrics and the bigest piece, in yellow, I am using a double-bed sheet that I had - still good but alone, no contour sheet nor pillow cases to go with it.

Also, there is a community bargain store where I got another single bed sheet that I am going to use as the backing of this quilt. It is yellow/white little squares. It should be finished for Christmas...

I did this one year, I told my husband I would not buy fabric for one year, only if I needed something to finish up a quilt and if I spent any money, It would only be $10. So, I did do this, and
made a few quilts, used material I didn't care for for backings,
I pieced them together, for the back which everyone commented about. You all can do this, it was a fun way to be
creative. I think I am going to do this again soon. Mine was from August to August. My husband was proud of me. Good Luck Girls, have fun!

not only are they in my head but they are also in the camper,in the livingroom ,the sewingroom, the tractor, in the pile of pattern books on the table, one in the frame and one on the cutting mat-can you tell I get bored easily and switch from one project to the other?

I love Quiltmaker.com. I've made her Scrappy Bargello in a couch size and a baby size.
Pineapple Blossom is another favorite. So far I've just made a couple of blocks. Easy and outstanding when made with a bright contrast color. A friend used cheddar yellow. It was gorgeous.
