I wonder if NZquilter will want to do it again? She was a great hostess.

I was wondering that, too, especially since she said recently that she might not do the Bonnie mystery this year, as she is busier lately.

That's really sweet of you ladies. I don't think I'll join the MQ this year, unless I cave in once I see the first clue, lol! If anyone else wants to jump in and ask PatriceJ for permission to host, please go right ahead. I'll be saving each clue, and who knows, maybe a lapsize will be nice.

I wasn't going to do it either, as it's such an effort... but I feel myself getting sucked into the vortex!

I too find it takes real dedication. Last year I stressed too much about keeping up and had a hard time enjoying myself and the ride. Looking back, I must have been pretty crazy, taking it on with a newborn and a one year old! Actually, I don't think I'm any smarter now. I have five simpler style quilts I'm jumping between, three being queen size. I have bitten off way more than I can chew this year! I blame the sew-alongs and swaps here on the QB. And I have Christmas gifts to make still...

Oh Cathy... I don't know how you find any sewing time at all with two babies. I had 3 in 4 years. I remember how it was. Just enjoy those babies! They grow up too fast.

3 in 4 years! Wow, that is busy! I have my sewing all set up in their toy room. They play and I sew, stop for a few minutes to read them a story, build a tower, and then stitch some more. They enjoy sitting on my lap and handing me pieces to sew. One quilt I wanted super scrappy, so I let them choose what fabrics to use. It looks great! Both girls also like to play "sew" on a Singer 66 that I want to restore and rewire oneday. They know how to feed the fabric through as if it was real, and my 2 year old understands the concept of chain piecing! I'm very proud of them! Their daddy think they might learn mechanics when they are older, but I think they are going to be quilters.

So cute! How could those girls not grow up to be quilters? When mine were little, the boys liked to sew on the sewing machine. They made little toys like beanbags. I have a daughter and two sons. They all knit when they were little, too. Daughter still does. And she sews home decor when needed, like pillows and curtains. I left a Featherweight at her house, hoping to tempt her.

Now I'm waiting for two of them to have babies next Spring. I just finished the second sweater for those two babes:

The first one was the fox sweater I posted previously.

Beautiful sweater! I love your fox one too. What fiber of wool are you using? It looks so soft and perfect for baby skin.

It's so nice that your daughter still knits and sews. I always hear of crafts skipping every other generation, so good for you for teaching your children, boys too! If we get boys, they are absolutely going to learn how to sew. Neither my mom or my grandmas sewed, nor any of my sisters or brothers. I had way too many buttons to fix and pants to mend while growing up!
