I'm happy to say I got this bad boy done with 1 day to spare. It's the Wings in a Prayer Forest Floor that I made back in I think 2017 or 2018. My sister claimed it back then but I finally got it custom quilted this month. I decided to try various options on my IQ robotics as I've had it since maybe 2015 and haven't really tested out all it can do for me.
I decided to do cross hatching by using "line" due to the fact my motor wheels are not working as they should and shifting off about a 1/4" one way or the other so I did the cross hatching manually 1 line across the entire quilt at a time x 4 sides. There were over 20 separate lines going about 73 inches across and took 2.5 minutes to stitch out. Once I got the hang of it, it went much faster and smoother. Then I tried recording around the leaf motifs. Luckily if you didn't like your 1st try at it, you could cancel and restart which I did many times as my hands shake alot. Then to surround the leaf motif blocks I wanted to add straight lines going up and down continuously but not stitch across the motif so I had to cut out what I didn't want or what's called "clipping". Okay, got that figured out. Then I decided I could get it much closer around the motif if I split and cut out what I didn't want. So used line, clipping, recording, spitting on this quilt and I'm fairly happy with how it all turned out. My sister won't mind and I won'ttell her where I might have screwed up.
Oh yes, I also basted the entire quilt completely around the sides and then every length of my machine going across. Then I stitched in the ditch around every block. Of course I wasn't perfect but with practice I'll get better. So used a lot of new techniques on this quilt. Here are some photos of my January UFO finish. Got the binding done today.

Hello Everyone! I have been away from the Quilting Board (and, frankly, from quilting) for a long while (years) but want to get back into the swing of things, and this seems an excellent place to start
My list of UFOs is likely exactly the same list I posted in my New Year's Resolutions on here in about 2021 or 2022 - life kind of intervened, so I don't think there has been any progress since then - but I do still want to finish all of them so, my list is...
1. Puffins Aloft (2021) - need to prep both the top and backing for longarming, and then actually send out for longarming
2. Cream & Green sampler (2011 - not a typo) - need to prep top and backing for longarming, and then send out for longarming
3. Harvest Gatherings (2022) - prep top and backing for longarming, then send out for longarming (anyone noticing a pattern here? Lol)
4. Sylvia's Bridal Sampler - finish putting on border (half done), then prep top and backing for longarming, and send out
5. Pumpkins & Cats table runner (2021) - finish hand quilting (this is the nearest to completion, as I only have 1.5 borders to finish quilting and then it is done - but it has been stuck at that point for... a long time)
6. Penguins BOM (2020) - figure out backing, then prep it and top for first ever custom longarming and send out
7. Brackman Civil War BOM (2013) - re-baste (assuming this needs to be re-done since it has sat for probably... a decade?), then attempt to quilt on my DSM
8. Lone Star (started 1999-ish, finished piecing top 2016) - prep top and backing for longarming, and send out to be done - I am a bit anxious about sending this one out, since it is a mix of hand sewn and machine sewn, completed over multiple years, and my skill level throughout... varies. But it is far too big for me to attempt to do myself, so there is going to come a point where I just have to cross everything and hope it works out.
I had a big push around 2020 where I finished off quite a lot of my older projects, but then have fallen off with actually completing all things I started after that point. And of course I have a lot of new projects I would love to start...
Congratulations to those who have already managed to make solid progress on their goals - I hope to join you soon!!!
JulieNM - I am very taken with your master plan; the logic appeals to me (also, your post signature made me laugh)
I resolve to try and work on one of my UFOs today...
Happy Quilting to all

Well, now that the big monster is done, I'll go back to some of my smaller quilts. My goal for February will be to quilt the oversized lap that matched the Ombre quilt that got me back to quilting again last March. This will go to the bottom of the bed. Plus if I'm lucky enough I've pulled out a MSQ pattern called Rick Rack where I used all sorts of scraps from my stash. I went to MSQ in Missour last year with a friend to find the perfect backing for it. This will end up going to a quilt auction by the thrift shop I go to a lot. The monies will help the disabled folks that live in their houses around town. Getting these 2 done in one month will be a challenge but at least I know what I'm going to quilt on them already and what threads I'll be using and that seems to be half the battle, trying to figure out how to quilt them. Both will be custom quilted as that's what I like to do.

Snooze2978, WOOZERS! Amazing finishes this month.
Welcome back, Pancheta. Reviving the old list is just a good use of your time. Why recreate what is already to go? Now you can get back to creating finishes.
If you are following the challenge, quilt #9 was listed for January and..... tomorrow I will post the next challenge from our list.
,
Nope, my UFO friends, I did not get #9 finished, but I did purchase a back for it and have decided that it is not a "ugly" as I thought. Guess #9 needed to "stew" a bit before I liked it. I am going to have it long armed and use it as a gift for a family member. That means I will have two quilts to finish in February. I can do it, I can do it, I can do it and so can you!
I will "see" you all again tomorrow.

Congrats to all who finished projects this month, and to all who continue with our challenge!
I didn’t quite finish my #9 project, but I kept at it and moved along well once I gained momentum. It’s the most complicated project on my list, so I resolve to continue it into February and then also pick up whatever the next number in on the list, hopefully making February a “two-fer” month.

Yea for "two-fers"! For those who are giving the monthly challenge a try, our next challenge number is #11.
For me that is a set of exchange blocks (2022) from my quilt group, a guild but not officially a guild. This is a collection of 16 blocks that are very random colors. I will post a photo later. I just reviewed the directions for finishing the quilt using those blocks and it looks like I need to make some setting blocks and alternate blocks and corner blocks. Now, I remember why these got moved to the UFO basket.
Off I go this afternoon for some planning. I will meet you in our sewing spaces and look for more finishes this month.
I so enjoy all of your photos. Keep up the momentum. We all have plenty of options, right? That is why we are here.
