I know you've had your exchange already but I made Melted Snowmen cookies this year. Definitely labor intensive but really cute. (Could qualify as overly handled but definitely not grungy)...

Yes, we had a nice exchange.. My DH came down with a horrific cold so I had to move our event to a local restaurant. I did not want to expose my 2 friends to his germs. I bought lunch for us and we enjoyed a nice time visiting and exchanging cookies. Each of us pre-wrapped our cookies for each other.

I love to make baklava in a 13x9 pan, cut it into diamond shapes and place each piece in Christmas cupcake holders. They are considered by some to be labor intensive but I enjoy the process. I can place them in their cupcake holders in a sealed container and freeze them. Tasty.
