Default Graham Cracker Surprise

My daughter was gifted a tin of this, and it was sooo good that I had her ask for the recipe. (I think I will try to reduce the butter in half.)
350 oven

Line pan with graham crackers.

Melt 2 sticks of butter in saucepan.

Add ½ cup sugar. Bring to boil and stir for 2 minutes.

Add 1 cup chopped pecans.

Mix and pour over graham crackers.

Bake for 12 minutes.
Cool for 1 minute, then move onto wax paper.

These are great! My dear friend use to make them every Christmas and they are the best gift. I also used brown sugar in them.

These were a treat when we went to my Aunt's home at Christmas as kids.
She added chopped maraschinos to the mix. Sometimes even coconut too.
Gave a nice colour lift from an otherwise drab brown!
As per JuliaSB, brown sugar was used.

Butter is the secret ingredient ... AAshley333, might I suggest that if you are changing anything, just go with more graham crackers and a thinner spread/topping? Though TBH, I think for most enjoyment you would be better to stick to the recipe in this case.

What size pan is used for the Graham cracker bars?

That is the recipe I was given. I would guess a rectangular pan. Grahams were divided into little rectangles in the snack we received.

We were gone for Christmas and when we returned we found a tin of this candy on our porch from a neighbor. It’s really good!

Google Graham Cracker Toffee, several recipes came up, easy to make, my neighbors are getting little packages of it today.
