Looking For A Specific Recipe Without A Name
My mother passed ten years ago this April. When she died, her recipe binder disappeared with all of her hand written copies of her favorite recipes. I had memorized all of her recipes, except for one. I know a few of the ingredients in it, but I must be missing something because whenever I try to recreate it, it comes up short of hers. It had mixed vegetables, cream of mushroom soup and American cheese slices. It was a creamy vegetable medley. Knowing my mother, she probably got the recipe from a magazine or the back of a package/soup can. She would have probably found it around the late eighties to very early nineties, since her family doesn't remember hearing of it before she married my father. Does anyone remember a recipe like this?

I make this all the time. Good even if it is not the prized recipe.
California Casserole
2 packages frozen California blend
1 1/2 cups prepared rice
1 can mushroom soup
1- 16 oz cheese whiz or any cheese
Thaw vegetables and prepare rice. Mix, add soup and cheese.
Put into a buttered, 9x13 pan. Bake 30 minutes at 350. Last five minutes top with canned onion rings and finish baking.
