Default McCormick Chili Recipe, 1961

I've lost my chili recipe which was on the back of a McCormick chili powder tin in about 1961. At that time we lived in Port Hueneme, California. The recipe had vinegar in it, which gave the chili a real tang. If anyone has it, I'd be very very greatful. Thank you. Molly

Cottage Cheese Jello Salad (from Cooks.com)
16 oz Cottage Cheese
3 oz Jello
16 oz can Fruit (drained)
4 oz Cool Whip
1/2 C chopped pecans (optional)
Add dry Jello to cottage cheese and stir. Add fruit. Fold in Cool Whip. Add nuts either in the salad, or on top of salad. Let stand 15 minutes in refrigerator. Enjoy!!

Yep, that is the way I learned to make mine, and I still do! This is the recipe I learned to make, except I don't put the vinegar in it.

Thanks for the recipe. I like that it only serves 4. All my chili recipes serve like 110 ( well at leat 10) and since there are only 2 of us now, this recipe will be great. I agree, red kidney beans, yuk. That is the way my mom made it, but I prefer chili beans, pink beans or even black beans. To each their own.

We always have red kidney beans in our chilli - maybe it's a regional thing? My recipe is very close to the one posted above except I put 7 - 9 drops of tobasco in as well
