This is my long passed grandmother's recipe for no bake "Health Cookies". Haven't made them in years, but always loved them. I have another for peanut butter ones, but I see someone already gave you a link to a version of that one.

1/4 Lb Butter or Margarine, 2 C Sugar, 6 T cocoa, 1/2 C Milk, 1/2 Tsp Salt, 3 C Quick Oats (and you could throw in coconut if you wanted to), 1 tsp Vanilla, 1/2 C chopped nuts (if desired). Melt butter. Add sugar, cocoa, milk and salt. Boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Add vanilla and oats, and nuts. Drop from spoon onto cookie sheet until firm. Enjoy.

I would love to have a recipe for a soft sugar cookie! I bought some at a sale one day,but the lady wouldn't give out the recipe. I have tried various ones on the web,but they still turn out hard. Sorry I can't help you with the no bake cookie.

Mix well and drop by tablespoonful on foil or wax paper. (sometimes I add chopped nuts or raisins.)Hope you get the recipe you wanted. these are called no bakes these days. same cookie modern name. good luck. Mary

JoAnn, My mother told me a thing or two about cookies. Choc Chip,Sugar,Oatmeal. If you want a soft cookie use 1 Tablespoon of Baby food apple sauce. It has worked me for years.

Chele
Love this recipe as well here at our home.
I also wanted to compliment you on the wonderful
banana nut bread. Delicious....granddaughter & I made
it. She had the most fun squishing the bananas.
(bread was done in 45 minutes in convection oven)
Anyway....thanks for the 'wonderful' recipe! :D
