Hello all!

I am in need of some bread machine recipes. What are your favorites?

We have a Hostess wholesaler nearby where we can buy normal sandwich bread for very cheap. What are your favorite flavored breads?

The book that came with the machine gave a recipe for raisin bread...what do you like?

We like the wheat, and the ones with nuts. Haven't tried the sourdough. If you want some recipes, I can email/snail mail to you.

That would be great. I'll pm you my addy.

I make a great cheddar bread, but not sure how it would adapt to a breadmaker since it raises three times. Will see if I can dig it out tomorrow. I like oat bread, too.

My machine's basic setting raises 3 times too. But I don't know how it would work in a machine.

Here's a bunch, and you can read the reviews by those that have tried the recipes.

I have a bread machine and have tried to use it less than 10 times. The reason for the small # of uses is because the bread always comes out hard as a rock and isn't very good. I follow the instructions very closely! :( The only luck I have had is when I've tried the bread machine mix in a box. The only brand/kind I can find is a sour dough mix, and it may be Krusteez brand?? It works, but the crust still gets pretty hard. I have tried all different kinds/types of flour, etc.

Buttercream-are you high altitude? When I made the first loaf here, it turned out like a rock, then I started reading the book again, because we had tried these recipes before and they turned out fine. If that's not the case for you, I don't know what the problem could be.

You might try using the machine to get it ready to bake, then putting it on a pan and making it in your over. I have done that successfully in the past.

Buttercream, try to change the setting. Mine has a light, medium & dark. I usually bake everything on the light setting so it doesn't make the crust too brown or hard. See if that helps. I have some really good recipes, I'll try & look up for you.
