Cooking Ham

Not positive about this but I think last year I cooked my ham by covering the roasting pan with foil. Does anybody do this? I cook the type of ham that is precooked. What do you do? Do you just throw it in the oven without the foil? And please, no glazes, I'm too lazy.

That is what I do, and also I don't use the glaze that comes with the ham. I just set the oven on 325 for about an hour. May be too long, just have to check it a time or two.

Most of the time, I completely wrap our ham in foil. Then, if we want glaze(my DD and DGS like this), I unwrap, glaze, and do a quick turn in oven to brown.

I usually do pre-cooked as well. Cover with foil for however long it says to cook. I do usually glaze so after doing that, leave uncovered for a bit. Cook in a teflon coated roasting pan though.

Wrap mine in foil twice and put in crock pot on high for several hours. very juicy!

I put mine in a pan,add 1/2 cup water, cover with foil, and cook at 350 for 7 to 10 minutes per pound. I discard the commercial glaze thingy and make a Taison sauce to go with the ham. That, plus scalloped spuds, steamed asparagus, rolls, and bunny cake for dessert.

Oops! That would be a raisin sauce...

I use to always buy those precooked meals at the local grocery store and the instructions were pretty good so I never burn the dinner!! NOT a very good cook.

I just cooked my half ham right out of the package. 325 degree oven for about 2 hours. The taste of the ham was perfect. No glaze or whatever, I can use leftovers for lots of dishes.

I always buy either a bone in shank or butt. I boil them for a couple hrs. to get rid of a lot of the salt, slice and serve. If I want a glaze put it in the oven for a short time with the glaze on. I get so many compliments and everyone that asks how I do my ham can't believe it.
My Mom taught me to do it this way.
