This sounds like a good idea, maybe a pot holder or two. There is also a recipe on here for single serving pie in a jar and a "recipe" for making hand lotion.

This year I am not doing the apple, since there was NO local fruit, but going with the cobbler mix instead. |

I haven't tried any of the jars, might need to :-)
I always make a macaroon recipe from an old neighbor. Teresa's Walnut Joys 2 large eggs, beaten 1/8 t salt 3/4 c sugar (I use Splenda) 1/2 c flour 1 t vanilla 1 T melted butter 2 c coconut 1 c choc chips (I use dark) 1 c chopped walnuts Mix well. I use a small ice cream/cookie scoop for these. Bake on greased cookie sheet (I use parchment paper)for approx 12 minutes at 325. Cool completely, store airtight for up to a week. Not that they last that long :-) I double the recipe, kind of. Basically dump the bags of coconut, choc chips and walnuts in. Neighbors/friends love them. Me too. And made with Splenda they aren't toooo bad! |

Thanks for all the links and the recipes. I cant wait to try them!
"Puppy Chow" has been a favorite in our family since my oldest brought some home in Kindergarden, and gave it to her little brothers. Of course they wanted more, Puppy chow, lol, so we had to get the recipe! |
Will have to try the Walnut Joys recipe. We use Splenda in all baking and highly recommend it. Thanks for sharing!!

Hugs! This reminds me of years ago when DD was in high school. She wanted to 'borrow' monies to get presents for 20  of her friends. Even if it was just $5 per person that is $100 :? I suggested that she make candies. She and GF purchased sugar, chocolate chips and some of the other 'main' ingredients. I supervised, they did the work and made 20 cute and sweet presents. Later I found out that most of the 'friends' were guys . . . they loved the sweet present. The next Christmas I had 4 girls in my kitchen making sweet presents for their friends. ;-) |
What a great story Grammy Dywnn! And yes, fudge HAS to get made at Christmas here, we all love it!
