one more question??? So the 1 cup of powdered sugar is to dip the glass in??? To flatten the cookies with?? Wasn't sure if the powder sugar goes into the cookie dough, or if the regular white sugar goes in the cookie dough? Usually we used to dip the glass into the granulated sugar to flatten the cookies with. Please clarify---might just have to make some. Thanks

no, it takes 1 c of sugar and 1 c of powdered sugar. Extra sugar to did glass in. I also use cinnamon and sugar to dip glass in

Does this really have 1 cup oil and 1 cup butter? And that is 1 tsp salt?

Since I made a mess out of the first list I will try again.1cup sugar, `1 cup powdered sugar, 2 sticks butter or margarine, 2 eggs, 1 cup canola oil, combine and mix these ingriedents. ADD 4 1/2 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon soda, 1 teaspoon cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon vanilla or flavor of your choice. Blend well. Make balls size of walnut and put on cookie sheet. Flatten these balls with glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes in preheated 375 degree oven.

one more question, since you are adding salt, is the butter to be with or without salt? These sound delicious...

jmanghamom 02-13-2011 11:44 AM

I use just plain old butter with salt
