    preheat over to 375

    1 c sugar ADD:41/2cflour 1 c powder sugar 1 t soda
    2 cubes oleo of 1 t salt
    2 eggs 1 t cream tartar
    1 c oil 1 t Vanilla or other flavor
    combine and mix well Blend well Make walnut sized balls and put on cookie sheet. Flaten with glass dipped in sugar . Bake 10- 12 minutes. These stay crisp for days. Makes about 5 doz 3 inch cookies.

    when you say "2 cubes of oleo" do you mean 2 TBL.?
    They sound so yummy I'd like to whip them up now but it's really past my bedtime!

    no 2 cubes of butter or oleo is equal to 1 cup
    I don't know what I did but the powdered sugar is suppose to be with the sugar

    OK - 2 sticks of oleo? and 1 cup of pwd sugar & 1 cup white sugar? Sweet!

    I cup of oil AND 1 cup of butter? Sounds like alot of fat for 4 1/2 cups of flour- is this accurate? and do they come out greasy?

    I have been making these for years and they are so GOOD.mine don't come out greasy.they are easy and fast.

    No, they are not greasy. They are sort of like shortbread. I use canola oil.
