I haven't tried that one, but I do make smoked potatoes in the crockpot. Super simple hash browns or country fried potatoes, mozzarella cheese, a Mexican blend of cheese, salt, pepper a tsp of liquid smoke a can of chicken soup, about 1/2 can of milk and let it go all day. My family loves it

Wow, this sounds like a nice take on hash brown casserole. About how much of the cheeses? And I'm guessing it's cream of chicken soup?
If this way of doing beef works out, I could do it in my newer crockpot that is oblong and fits a roast and potatoes in my older one and have a meal ready in no time. Add a salad and I'd be set. Would be good if I had to have a meal pulled together for guests right after getting home from work.
